On the part 5 of the I-864 the household size, it says do not count twice

a. Enter the number you entered on line 10. 01 for my wife which i am petitioning

b. Yourself. 01

c. If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse. 01

Then it tells to add all lines, total is 3, but I should put 2 right because line 10 and letter c is same person.

Check it off, then if you're sponsoring your spouse, check off 'yes'. You only check off 'no' if you've got a joint sponsor and aren't contributing any income.

Line c would be 0 as you've already counted your spouse on line a.

Question again, i just want to make sure I did my i 864 correctly, it says here (OPTIONAL) I have attached photocopies or transcripts of my federal tax returns for my 2nd and 3rd tax year. I lost my tax return for the previous 2 years but I have my recent one. I work for the military and met the poverty guideline, is it ok if i only send the tax return for 2011?

Check it off, then if you're sponsoring your spouse, check off 'yes'. You only check off 'no' if you've got a joint sponsor and aren't contributing any income.

I appreciate all your help guys, thank you so much

Hmm Saylin says this week, Danell says March 8. (Although if I hear this week then I will know the date on 8 March.)

So a Timmies to Saylin if I hear this week and poutine to Darnell if I hear next week.

And a raspberry to NVC if it's later than that.

sorry, that was for FooBaz, not you..

Good lord I hope I don't mess this up...

We're sending in the DS-3032 as a PDF (which I had to convert from a JPEG because the wife is having trouble scanning to PDF at home) with the case number in the subject line, and the usual block of contact information, birthdays and such in the body. I've also put the text from the "Email DS-3032" in the body of the email in case they don't like the PDF. It contains the same information as in the DS-3032 PDF.

Am I forgetting anything?

don't forget the PROPER subject line , if'n this is the OPT IN EMAIL.

Oh, and we're sending it to NVCElectronic@state.gov instead of NVCInquiry@state.gov, yes?

yup.

But you did this already, the ds-3032 was included in the OPT IN email you sent in, prior.

How long would it take to trigger the IV bill after DS-3032 in the case of EP? I sent my OPTIN email with DS-3032 last Tuesday. So far no IV bill invoiced yet from payment portal. The EP acceptance email from NVC indicated the DS-3032 received. Is there a separate DS-3032 acceptance email?

about 3 days.

re: acceptance email - don't count on it.

Huh... NVC said that the DS-3032 should go to NVCInquiry and that documents should go to NVCElectronic. (@state.gov). They suggested I send it to NVCInquiry, even though I already sent it to NVCElectronic.

For anyone who did EP, which one did you send your DS-3032 to?

NVC teleoperator is wrong.

You can review the current 'process' here -> http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_5163.html

and

http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_5162.html

Why are you trying to send it again? You should be chasing down the ones you've already sent, instead. They were ATTACHED to yer OPT IN email, you really need to ask for a human trained in EP the next time you call; elsewise you'll get the wrong info.

Note to you - don't forget that nasty looking GUZ IV P3 Supplemental form. It's required with the DS-230. Available for d/l on the ep wiki page.

Good lord how much I'd pay to be able to talk to someone who has actual information of what they're going to do. In the end all we can do here is guess. Educated guesses based on experience to be sure, but still guesses. :(

Given it could take several days for an apparent error to come to light, since it isn't likely that anyone will even look at the email sent to NVCElectronic for a day or two, I may as well send one to NVCInquiry as well. I just hope it doesn't cause yet another delay while their poorly written system seizes up again. :(

Don't send anything to NVCInquiry at this stage.

Chase down the ds-3032 via telephone, remind the teleoperater yer an EP casefile, give the GZO number. If the teleoperator is confused about EP (94 percent of them are, btw) then ask for a supervisor.

This is really easy stuff -the DS-3032 is detached from yer email and stored in the SAFEFILE version of yer casefile.

LoL...

A new call.. a new answer....

The lady on the phone verified it should go to NVCElectronic and she asked a supervisor as well.

That being the case, and is hopefully correct, what is the general time frame for DS-3032 acceptance? Two days or so?

Huh? You've sent it twice already - you really need to chase down the DS-3032 with NVC via telephone - remind them it was in the OPT IN EMAIL, as per THEIR INSTRUCTIONS.

Ya, there's yer snafu, as well. I tend to forget that, as you supposedly have succesfully OPTed IN now.

Hmmmm.

Chase down the DS-3032 now with NVC - they close in 42 minutes. Ask for a supervisor FIRST. Tell supervisor yer an EP case, and the DS-3032 in the OPT IN has NOT gotten into yer casefile.

I'm on the phone with them now and on the way to a supervisor. The first lady I talked to was nice but seemingly a bit clueless about EP and GUZ. For instance, she was insisting that NVC doesn't scan any documents. Which left it a bit hanging as to how things were going to get into the SAFEFILE and sent to GUZ electronically. I suppose that would happen by magic? :D

Okay... so... in short.. the Supervisor said she'll try and track down the original OPTIN email with DS-3032 attached. Of course, as she pointed out it probably wouldn't change anything at this point since the original and the one I sent in today would be racing each other into processing.

I do really wish I could get someone to say whether or not our evidence sent to USCIS has made it into the SAFEFILE or not. Like I told the Supervisor, if my spouse was coming from the UK or France it wouldn't be that big a deal. However, the loss of that evidence for someone coming from China would be catastrophic and would practically guarantee a denial at interview. Since as we all know, absence of evidence of bonafides is evidence of non-bonafides. :(
