I received an email from NVC telling me that they received and processed my DS-3032 email. Now my question is once i already paid the AOS invoice, can i send the I-864 right away or do I have to wait for the I-864 package and use the form that they sent with the barcode?

As soon as the AOS bill appears as PAID in the payment portal, you can send the AOS package. Make sure you have the bar-coded cover sheet from the payment portal as the first page in the package. No need to wait for NVC to email you saying you can send the AOS package. Big waste of time.

Is there a point in "calling NVC Everyday" like I have read, knowing that it would take them a couple of days to enter my case in their system? ... or

Should I instead wait let say a week and then call again to see if there a change in status, and perhaps a NVC Case # available by then?

I totally get what you're saying. Calling every day was driving me nuts, especially because it was over the holidays and things were moving slowly. I only called every 2-3 days for the first week and a half after hearing the case had been received, then I went back to every day. Just do whatever keeps you sane, whether that's calling every few hours or every few days.

You can do whatever you want. I suggest calling everyday so you know the same day that your case number has been scheduled. Then you can give over email addresses and email the DS-3032.

Waiting a week won't hurt you. As long as you're prepared that you might lose a few days if your case number is assigned tonight while you wait a week not doing anything.

That message is completely normal. It means they're inputting your case in the system!

I am SOOO confused. I am going to have my mother as my joint sponsor. She files taxes JOINTLY with my father. Her income ALONE is not enough for her to be my joint sponsor but with my father it is well over the poverty guideline since the household size is 6 (including intending immigrant). Since she files taxes JOINTLY with my father and both their incomes COMBINED are above the poverty guidelines, is okay for her to fill out the other I864, apart from the one I will fill out as well. Basically, by her filling out the I864, is her income ONLY observed or is her income combined with my father observed since they file joint taxes.

I am so confused and frustrated

True. Though, I was thinking more along the lines of FAQ in addition to the links. Of course, that presumes people will read it instead of just jumping to the end of the thread with questions..

Also 21g on I864 says if I have siblings, parents or adult children etc who are combining their income with mine by submitting form I864A?????? I thought joint sponsor should fill out I-864 not I864A. Sorry for being super annoying.

Saylin, I love that first post you made to list the links. I have used them (apart from all the help I receive from the VJ folks) to chart my course through this process. Now that I am putting together the DS-230 packet, I was reading some posts and seems some people have been talking about printing the applicant's name and NVC Case # on the backside of the photographs they send with the IV Package. I recall reading at least one person talking about receiving a RFE for not doing so. However, looking at the guides I did not see any clause asking to do that. Where is this info available? Are there other 'fine print' caveats that we need to be aware of?

As far as I know, there is nowhere in the official guides saying to do that, but it's commonly suggested to do that here on VJ. The purpose is if the pictures get lost, they can be easily linked back up to the case.

The person who got the RFE for that was the first case I've seen.

What do I put on the block 8 of the I-864, there is yes and no on the bottom of I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above.
