Interesting... I just tried to sign into the payment portal and got the "we've nuked your case" message. I'm going to go ahead and presume that means they might actually have finally done something and were in the process of entering our case Friday.

That said, the DS-3032 triggers the IV process yes? I wonder if they kept the one I sent with my first OPTIN email and if therefore there is any chance they would process it? Oh well, I guess we'll find out soon.

Well, I didn't mean it would be invoiced this weekend But rather starting next week.

And yes, acceptance of the DS-3032 triggers the invoicing of the IV bill. So, it is possible that they will invoice the IV bill. But I don't know. I haven't ever seen a timeline/situation like yours.

For those mailing iv and aos packages are we maiking them to same place and same pavkage or no?! Thanks. when will I get the iv bill I paid , I paid the aos it still showing as processing

You can either mail them separately or together. The address to send the packages is on the bar-coded cover sheets from the payment portal.

The IV bill is only invoiced once the DS-3032 is accepted.

NVC received our case on Feb 24 2012. How long does it take before they assign a case number?

Based on my experience, call daily for case number, nothing is certain how long it will take. And I do you need the case number and a iin number to make payment.

And you can make him your agent, they will send the form.

There is no point in sending the DS-3032 email before your AOS Invoice is generated. Note that even after you have your NVC Case# and IIN, it might take a few more days for the Invoice to be actually generated. The definitive way to find out when you can email your DS-3032 is to try and log on to their online payment system often. The minute you see that you are able to pay the 88$ AOS fee, go ahead and shoot that DS-3032 email. (Note: You DO NOT need to pay the $88 to email DS-3032. It's just to confirm that the system is ready to accept your DS-3032.)

The fact that you are overseas doesn't by itself prevent you from being the agent. Especially now that most forms are emailed if you provide NVC with the email addresses, your physical location really doesn't matter much.

If you think you shall have to depend on regular mail, it's probably a good idea to make someone in the US your agent.

Hi all,

I was searching for DS 230 instructions pdf, like they have with most other forms. Curiously I couldn't find it on the official websites. While there is a lot of info by so many wonderful folks here, I was hoping to have an 'official' reference handy.

Is there not such a document? If not how do folks have a definitive guide to what's necessary and what's not?

The only instructions I found were the small blurbs at the top of each section. I think that's all we get for this form.
