 thank you all!!!! I just talk to my husband, and he told me he will not pay anything to the lawyer anymore. We will just wait on NVC send us the case completed and than forward to the Embassy in Madrid, we no longer need him at all. And thank you all for always being kind and helping us promptly. I'll let you guys know about my process.

God Bless ya'll!

Make sure you inform NVC that your lawyer is no longer attached to this case and that you want the petitioner to act as agent from now on.

I'm assuming some one has access the database to update it?!

Of course it won't delay your process! It's like updating your address, no delay at all. Do it as soon as you can so NVC stops sending correspondence to your lawyer. And I'm not exactly sure how to remove your lawyer. Either with an operator or by sending NVC an email saying you want to remove your lawyer and including all information.

Could be any day. Lately, it's been taking NVC 1-3 weeks to assign case numbers. Just keep calling every single day, you'll get it soon. While you're waiting, you should have both packages ready to go.

Have you and others reviewed the packages at least FIVE times? Have you re-read the instructions and guides to make sure you're not missing anything? Got the envelopes ready with the address and postage on it?

No kidding! That's only the second time I've seen someone get that message (both times in this thread) and every time I worry that something is horribly wrong with the case. They need to just stick with that SIF message...
