As long as you have the tax transcripts, you're good to go. They don't need W2s or 1040s.

When I brought my AOS package, they actually returned everything (pay stubs, employment letter, cover letter) and just kept the I-864 and 2010 tax transcript (that I just brought to the interview, we didn't send it to NVC as we didn't have 2010 at that time).

Even though you have a co sponsor I would submit your fiances past three years tax returns and take the w2's to the interview. When I went to my interview they requested to see the w2's which I didn't have. This delayed my case significantly.

If you're handing in tax returns (1040s), then you're required to bring W2s as well. They go hand in hand.

Tax transcripts though (which is preferred by NVC and consulates/embassies) don't need 1040s or W2s as all the information is on them.

Saylin.

one more question about the courier service DHL..

the first time when i tried to register it, i logged in and filled my name, dob and nationality.

but i made mistake about it. i chose Canada as my nationality..

when i found i made this stupid mistake, i wanted to edit my file,,but i failed cuz i cannot edit on the website.

so i registered again, at this time, with my correct nationality, and i also entered other info such as my visa type( permanent resident) and my case number.

is it ok to do so? i mean register twice, and in the second time, got everything correct.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I haven't heard anyone registering twice. I'd suggest emailing Montreal.

Our letter from Montreal with the list of documents indicate we only need to bring financial docs that we submitted for our I-864.

This means my last year's 1040 (2010). I didn't submit anything else. No paystubs or previous year returns. But you mention the need to bring more than this which leads me to wonder if there are other documents not on our list that we need to bring.

Our letters states to bring the following:

CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS C

1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1 R

1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 2 R

2 - PASSPORT Y

3 - BIRTH CERTIFICATE (Original of the copy already submitted by email)

4 - ADOPTION (No)

5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE (Original of the copy already submitted by email)

6 - MARRIAGE TERMINATION (No)

7 - COURT RECORDS (No)

F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE (Original of the copy already submitted by email)

9 - MILITARY RECORDS (no)

10 - CANADA POLICE CERTIFICATE (Req'd doc has been received)

10 - CHINA - TAIWAN POLICE CERTIFICATE (Req'd doc has been received)

FEE PAYMENT (Paid)

PHOTOGRAPH (Req'd doc has been received)

F - PETITIONER MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE (No)

F - PETITIONER BIRTH CERTIFICATE (No)

We were only asked to provide my last year's IRS return for the I-864. May we assume this is all we need for the interview?

There is no mention as to proof of domicile above. So why would this be necessary?

Comments appreciated.

Thanks.

You don't NEED to bring any extra documents. I've never said you NEED to. But I highly suggest it, in case they do request something, you have it on hand.

The only things you NEED to bring to the interview are:

-passport

-interview letter

-DHL confirmation (this is new and now being requested before being allowed in the consulate)

-I-864 package (if you did EP, otherwise they'll have it)

-DS-230 (Montreal isn't used to the online system yet)

-original/certified copy of beneficiary's birth certificate (if you did EP, other they'll have it)

-original/certified copy of marriage certificate (if you did EP, otherwise they'll have it)

-original police certificate(s) (if you did EP, otherwise they'll have it)

-two passport pictures

-medical results

Now, I would SUGGEST bring EVERYTHING you've ever submitted (copies of I-130 package, etc), NOAs, proof of relationship, etc etc.

And proof of domicile is only needed for DCF cases (where the petitioner lives in Canada).

Thanks!

Oh, also: I don't know your situation, but if the beneficiary was born in Taiwan and not Canada, then the resident card (for Canada) should be brought as well as that's probably required.

We're bringing the Canadian work permit that was submitted electronically to the NVC to qualify for the Montreal interview. It's attached to her passport. Assuming this is all that is needed.

Thanks again.

Oh, yes, if she's not a resident but on a work visa or something, then just bring the permit/visa to the interview. And if it's in her passport already, well, you don't need to worry as the passport is needed.
