Getting impatient...how long does it take for EAD?

Timeline

Hi everyone

Well we applied for AOS in November, and we were hoping that my husband would get his work authorization soon, but still it has not arrived.

Im curious...how long did it take for it to come? How long after did the green card follow? :blink:

K1 PROCESS:

11/1/10: NOA1 Received

4/14/11: NOA2 - Approved!!!!

8/18/11: Visa in hand

8/29/11: POE in ATLANTA!!!!

9/16/11: Married!!!

AOS PROCESS:

10/4/11: Social Security Card Arrived!

11/10/11: AOS Package mailed to Chicago Lockbox

11/19/11: NOA1

12/2/11: Biometrics

12/10/11: Case transferred to the California Service Center

03/06/12: EAD approved and card production!

03/14/12: EAD card in hand!

08/04/12: Green card in production!

08/09/12: Green card in hand!

Friends that I have seen file for EAD and GC said the EAD took 3 months or less and the GC 4 months or less. So you should be getting it very soon.

Married: 6/17/11

I-130 Sent: 7/9/11

NOA1 : 7/14/11

I-129F Sent: 7/21/11

NOA1: 7/21/11

NOA2: 8/22/11

NVC Received: 8/24/11

NVC Left: 8/26/11

Consulate Received: 9/5/11

Packet 4 Received: 10/4/11

Medical Done: 11/7/11

Interview: 11/23/11

Approved: 11/23/11

Changed to CR1: 12/16/11

Medical Re-Done: 1/5/12

Waiting for Issuance of Visa.........

According to VJ timelines it's currently taking 71 days from submission to approval of EAD. It will take another 1-2 weeks after that to get the card.

You can call 75 days after NOA1 date and ask for a service request. If they say 90 days, keep calling until you get someone that says 75 days. I called several times and was sometimes told 90 days, and sometimes told 75.

You can call 75 days after NOA1 date and ask for a service request. If they say 90 days, keep calling until you get someone that says 75 days. I called several times and was sometimes told 90 days, and sometimes told 75.

It makes sense to look at current processing times from the service center you are working with.

Mine took 40 something days and it came after the GC. But that was about 9months ago.

Check current times, I hope it comes soon! :)

05-2010 I-129F application received by USCIS.

05-2010 NOA1 received.

07-2010 NOA2 received.

07-2010 Packet 3 received.

08-2010 Packet 3 returned.

09-2010 Medical in London.

10-2010 Interview at US Embassy in London: Approved.

10-2010 POE Newark, NJ.

11-2010 Married in Vermont.

03-2011 Notice of acceptance of AOS packet.

03-2011 Biometrics appointment in St Albans.

03-2010 Case transfered to California Service Centre.

04-2011 I-485 Approved.
