Does the lab have to be scheduled prior to the medical exam? I presume the answer is a yes... and if do, can it be scheduled the same day? What have people done in terms of scheduling?

I looked in the embassy info on VJ and it provides the name of one lab and 2 doctors are these the only providers?

Yes the lab should be done first.. They can be done the same day (that is the usual case). There are four doctors, only one lab... My wife flew in from Medellin, went to the lab in the morning, then hung around Bogota for five hours as the lab went very quick and the doctor’s appointment was in the late afternoon.. then she went to the airport and was back home later the same day..

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

Ok got the doctor appointment scheduled. Couldn't get a hold of the lab, might be closed... do you know how early the lab opens? and how easy is it to schedule an appointment... or is an appointment even required?

An appointment is not needed to get the lab work done. The lab opens at 7 A.M. and people start lining up at 6 A.M.. If you're going the same day you're having your medical exam, then you need to get there early, if not, you can get there after 7 A.M.. The reason for this is because you need to give the lab people enough time to process the results and have them delivered to the doctor doing the medical exam.
