Outside of normal processing times for I-485/I-130

Hello Vj members.

I have sent a concurrent application, received back in september 19th and I didn t receive an interview letter yet.

For the biometrics, I received the notice in november 2nd, almost 6 weeks after I had filed, and I was able to get a walk in appointment on november 4th. I received my I-131 and I-765 by december 1st after I called for an expedite request(I had to travel).

The normal processing time for my local office is 4 month for I-485 so I am beyond that.

Do you think I should go for infopass? when I called the 1-800 number and spoke with an IO, he basically told me I should wait, and there is nothing I can do at this time.

What could be the reason..? what steps you advise?

Thank you in advance for your input!

You can call the 800 number, and asked for a service request. You can contact your local congressperson to have you to look into the progress. Good luck.

There really is no such thing as a "service request" for a concurrent case. People do that for petitions, because there are only two centers that adjudicate them, but local interviews depend on availability for interviews, so calling for "service" won't help if there are no appointments for you. I have seen this suggested a lot in this forum recently, and I think it's by people getting procedures mixed up.

There is really nothing to do. You can make infopass and see what's going on, but you can't force them to give you an interview if there is no room. You have EAD and AP, so you should be living comfortably here.

If you fill in your profile, we could help you more. I know a few offices that are backed up, but I can't know if yours is one of them.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thank you for your replies.

My local office is the St Paul one.

from what I read here, NY office is the one that is backed up. recently, someone here who filed around the same time as me already got her appointment there.

if the normal processing time is 4 months, that would be from filing date to when the applicant receives his/her card?

I will be out of the 6 month limit too.

Is there anything I should be worried about? I see some people receive RFE 5 months after they filed.

I m just wondering.

As I said, I got my EAD/AP card, so I m good for now. but would be better to have all this behind me for 2 years:)

Hope you all have a great evening!

Hi, I am in the same boat that you are in. Have you heard from them?
