Will they ask about my income?

Hi all,

I've decided I want to move to the US (California, Bay Area). I'm considering many job offers, in most cases they are either going to try for an H1B in October or (more rarely) an O1.

Will I be asked about my income in any of these applications, when the time comes? I've been always self-employed, so it's not as easy as reporting a salary figure.

Same goes for my years of experience. Officially I have 4 years of experience since I registered my company, although unofficially it's more, as I was freelancing on the side before that.
