Should I attend my husbands interview?

The NVC said I don't need to be at the interview, so I emailed the US Embassy in Georgia and they said I don't need to attend either.

Do you guys think I should go???

Because I haven't seen my husband in almost 5 months, and I really want to go now, not in 2 months when the interview is scheduled!!

WHAT SHOULD I DO???

04/02/2009 - Received SS# in the mail
04/29/2009 - Interviewed. I- 130 approved, I-485 pending IO's review
05/05/2009 - Received NOA2. Welcome letter for Permanent Residency. I-130 and I-485 approved 04/30/2009
05/08/2009 - Touched. I-485 approval letter sent
05/11/2009 - GC received in the mail. Expires 2019
05/11/2009 - Applied to remove restrictions on my SS Card
05/18/2009 - Received unrestricted SS card
10/13/2009 - My darling husband of 2 yrs 5 months 3 weeks 3 days passed away :(

They are correct you do not HAVE to be there. But let me tell you that it is a HUGE benefit to have you there. They can see you interact with eachother and question you both and it makes the whole process go very smoothly. If you are planning on going over do yourself a favor and wait for the interview! I missed my hubby too but we stayed strong and waited until interview time! Our interview was on a wednesday and we picked up his passport with visa friday and flew home sunday! It was great being with him through the whole journey through airports customs and immigration. I dont know how he would have made it through all that without me there to help guide him. I say wait and go to the interview!!! :thumbs:

I guess different embassies have different rules. My husband accompanied me to my interview in Johannesburg, South Africa - but they wouldn't let him into the embassy with me and he had to wait outside :(

I would recommend you go to the interview as well. They also told me that I didn't need to go but I went anyway and waited outside, which I'm glad I did because they had him fetch me. We were interviewed together and his Visa was approved. :) Good Luck!

The embassy will allow you to go to the interview with him! No problem in Georgia! And heck yeah if you can go now and later do that!!! More memories and more pictures and more fun while waiting! lol! Ill be in Tbilisi every chance I get!!! Im craving Acharuli Khachapuri right now! and khinkhali with an ice cold ludi! mmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm gooooooood
