I just want to say that I am AMAZED at the number of people who are waiting over 6 months for their NOA2 and then when they finally get it they ask ok...what do I do next? They complain that they did not get the NOA2 yet but they have done nothing to be proactive in the next stage of this very long process.

This site is available 24 hours a day. If you have been waiting 6 days...you need to start studying for the next step in this process. Then when your NOA2 comes you can be ready to fly thru to the next step.

So, please use this wealth of information called VJ

Use Lingche shortcuts for NVC. Be prepared

The NVC step can take 6-8 weeks or it can take 6-8 months.

the choice is yours. Be proactive and be ready to fly through NVC so you can get your interview quicker

Good Luck to all and please study. The USA is not handing out visa just cause you pay 1000 dollars. You have to earn the visa

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

That's why I pay the lawyer

Seriously, though? This site is a GREAT resource to prepare you for what's coming. If I hadn't already had a bad experience with a foreign VISA in the past, I'd have skipped the legal beagle and done it myself.

Note to non-UK citizens. If you intend on marrying in Belfast, DON'T DO IT without seeking professional (or psychiatric) help. Marriage in NI requires a VISA. Mine was declined because "In addition, your forms were submitted on A4 Paper, which is not commonly available in the United Kingdom". That little bit earned my passport a rejection and a world of hurt when traveling. :bonk:
