LOL...I can just picture it. Lord, I hope the Democrats win in November. I'm sick of the Republicans; they've been in charge of Congress since 1994 and all they've done is screw it up.

That's BS, things were going fine until Bush and gang decided to invade Iraq. About the only thing Bush has done that I agree with is the tax cut and given the choice to vote a third time and the other choices are Gore or Kerry, I'm voting for Bush again.

They passed Medicare Part D and No Child Left Behind, both on the Democrat wish list, so except for the Patriot Act, terrorist related stuff and tax cuts they have done what the Democrats claim they would have done.

It doesn't really matter whether or the Democrats were using this as an election ploy anyway -- though it would be despicable if they did (and I am reserving judgement until I see solid evidence. THe irony is that the Republicans DID and if they had handled the issue appropriately at the time, I doubt too many people would even remember it.

And for that, among all the other fuckups and ethics lapses they've committed, they don't deserve to continue to lead Congress. I hate all these red-staters who fear the Democrats like they're going to implement Sharia or something. Bullshit! Democrats are just as American as the next guy, and in my opinion they hold closer to the ideals of this country. It continues to amaze me how red-staters excuse Republican mistakes, lapses, and out-and-out crimes, while accusing the Democrats of possibly doing the same damn thing IF they get into power. Have you no shame? Have you no integrity? Are you so afraid of admitting the Republicans have ###### up?

I'll give them a D, because they shouldn't have ever been passed in the first place. Medicare is running out of money so we will fix it by starting another huge entitlement program and the Federal government has never educated anyone, should close the Department of Education and give all the money as block grants to the states.

I didn't support NCLB because I knew the Republicans would starve it, it's pointless.

And Bush starting the war in Iraq is enough to negate anything positive he's done.

BTW, I enthusiastically voted for Gore but abstained in 2004 because I couldn't bring myself to vote for Kerry.

Lets look at the crimes and the reactions shall we?

Studds:

Had a sexual relationship with a 17 year old page.

When caught he didn't resign.

When called on it he had a press conference WITH the boy and declared it was no ones business but theirs.

When censured he showed his disdain for the congress by turning his back while the censure was read.

The Dems, who controlled the house, blocked his expulsion.

He went on to be re-elected 5 times.

It is different when democrats and their party members do something wrong. The same people who are first to ###### a republican about something, turn a blind eye and play dumb when one of their buddies does the same thing.. Actually in that example, as you said, they re-elected him 5 times...

what actually will happen is besides the point. ppl's opinions around here is what matters in this thread. and i just wanted to see if i had the logic down of those who responded by saying 'hey, the dems did it too!'. are they letting the repubs slide?
