My husband is scheduled for an interview in March too! March 22 in Montreal. Our fingers are crossed... we're a little worried about proving domicile since I live in Canada with him but we will be as prepared as possible.

Good Luck to everyone!

My wife had her medical exam today. Took about an hour and we will receive the sealed results in the mail sometime next week.

Next up is the interview in a few weeks. I need to go through all the paperwork and copies to make sure I have everything ready to bring. I will also pull a few pictures out of an album just in case they ask...but i think being married 6 years, living together for even longer, and having 2 kids will be enough in an almost no fraud country like Japan. Besides, the file already should have 18 pictures from the I-130 application.

We are going to buy our plane tickets in the next week also. Leaving the end of April and it's going to be about $4,500 for all of us. Crazy! Who do they think I am? Rockefeller?

I think I'll get sick to my stomach when the wait is under a week... I'm really lucky my husband will come, he has such a calming effect on me!

But the poor hubby is gonna come for 3 days... not much when you spend almost 12 hours on a plane each way and have to cope with 9 hours time difference! Unfortunately he just started his job in January and doesn't have vacation. I think he's starting to miss France and our 5 weeks vacation + 4 weeks vacation that just have a different name...

Congratulations and good luck to all who have upcoming interviews in March. We've just started with NVC, so I guess it'll take about a month before we get there. Moreover, when I checked our consulates website, all dates in March have already been taken, so I'm hoping we get an April interview!

Has any of you had to get a letter from their doctor describing a medical condition to bring to the medical examination?

I'm not sure what I should tell my doctor to write in there.

Is it a medical condition that is screened for because the government makes immigration decisions based on whether or not an applicant has said medical condition?

From your other mentions of it, it doesn't sound like it's something that is normally screened for and your concern is proving health insurance when you arrive. In that case, do you even need anything from the doctor?

I've heard that they are looking for a very specific list of conditions that cause ineligibility and that's it. Anything else isn't really a concern and I would question whether or not you need to have a doctor mention it in a letter. Has there been other information submitted during your application that states you have the condition?

No it's not a Class A condition that would cause ineligibility at all, I'm not sure if it's classified under class B. In the medical form where you have to check the boxes yes or no about different medical conditions, this one is listed, so I'll have to check yes.

I'm gonna have my husband get a letter from his HR saying he'll add me to his health insurace plan (provided by his employer) as soon as I arrive, to bring to the interview.

Basically, I just need to take a daily medication that costs very little (at least here in France), do a blood test twice a year, and an ultrasound every 2 years or so. Nothing that will make me go bankrupt, and it does absolutely not affect my lifestyle.

I've read multiple times on VJ that it's better to bring a letter from your doc about any known medical condition, otherwise the physician might require additional information about it to ensure it was explored and it's treated. In my case, it's been treated for 15 years and all the tests have been made, so I don't want the guy to ask for extra exams and delay my approval!

In that case, maybe just ask your doctor to write a letter saying that you were diagnosed with the condition 15 years ago and have received the proper treatment since that time (maybe list the blood tests, ultrasounds, and medicine).

Since it's nothing that would disqualify you from a visa, a letter from your doctor stating those facts would probably result in no delay at the medical exam.
