I just received my NOA2 today!!! Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows what month people going to book interviews are getting. I am trying to be able to go to a weddign in the US in June and hoping to have my interview after that. I know it may not work out and I would take an interview over waiting, but it is my future brother in law's wedding and I know that after I have my interview I can't go until I plan on moving which I am not planning on doing until September. Are interviews usually 1,2,3 months out after packet 4? Anyone know? Thanks!

Aos:

10-01-12. Sent AOS, AP and EAD

10-09-12- Recieved NOA's for forms

10-24-12- Successfully walked in for biometrics (originally scheduled for 11-08-12)

11-26-12- Made info pass appointment for emergency advance parole. Denied, but agent called service center to request an expedite.

11-28-12- Agent at Infopass called me to let me know service center approved my request.

12-01-12- Advance parole received in the mail (2 page version, not combo card)

Grats on the NOA2!! :) As a K1 you'll pick the date yourself if you're going through Montreal, so you're actually in a good position with wanting it to be *after* a certain date, not before. If when it's time for you to book the dates are too soon, you will be able to wait and book for a later time.

K1:
10-27-10 : I129F Sent
11-03-10 : NOA1
04-06-11 : NOA2
06-20-11 : Medical (Toronto)
08-03-11 : Interview - APPROVED!
08-12-11 : Visa in Hand & POE
09-17-11 : Wedding <3

AOS:
11-02-11 : AOS Sent
12-05-11 : RFE
12-09-11 : Biometrics
01-11-12 : EAD/AP Card received
01-30-12 : AOS Interview
02-03-12 : Card Production Ordered
02-08-12 : Green Card received

ROC:

11-22-13 : ROC Sent

11-27-13 : NOA

12-17-13 : Biometrics

04-01-14 : RFE

Ok good. That won't affect the 4 month expiry on the NOA2?

No, it won't be a problem. They often have to renew those, especially Montreal because they're so slow.

Don't be surprised if you get the secondary questioning routine. You having a fiance in the U.S and being in the visa process might make you look suspicious to some officer's eyes. In any case, do not lie. Make sure you bring evidence of strong ties to Canada when you go visit in the U.S (lease, rental agreement, letter from your boss saying they expect you back by X). And if possible, bring your appointment letter with the consulate to prove you don't plan on staying in the U.S illegally and have to go back to attend your interview.

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

Don't worry I bring that stuff everytime I go. I haven't been sent to secondary yet. I always have with me a letter from employer, my lease on my apartment and my NOA1. I have only had to show the NOA1 once and just to the guy at the booth. I never leave Canada without all of that and my flight confirmation as well. I live close to the US and go over quite often (not always to see my fiance) and so far so good. *Fingers crossed*. If I go to the wedding I also plan to bring the wedding invitation with me.
