So you're living there and renting out the other rooms?

Also, who's paying your property taxes, insurance, mowing the grass, repairing the water heater when it breaks, etc?

Maybe he cannot afford his own house. At any rate we should not have to subsidize his profit.

How am I subsidizing my profit. I USE TURBO TAX !! ! ! !

You are not paying your fair share but you criticize others who avoid tax.

Two houses. Don't live in either.

Two property taxes. They add up to $3,000 (at least, probably more like $3500).

Made $17,000 off of them in (subsidized) profits.

Last time I checked that is 17.6%.

And that doesn't include income taxes (which I am reporting my numbers and TURBO TAX is doing the rest)

No. I live elsewhere. I am renting to one family (husband/wife/toddler).

I have a 30 year mortgage. Taxes are fortunately rolled in to the mortgage but it comes out to about $1500 or $2000 a year in taxes.

They pay for electricity/gas/lawn maintenance.

If something breaks (for example $500 in plumbing under the kitchen sink last summer) then I pay the bill...

If you live elsewhere, who's paying your rent?

The property tax is not income tax. It has nothing to do with your income, you would pay that whether you had income or not and regardless of the how much you made. You are deflecting the issue, big surprise.

what do all these homes do to your carbon footprint? Sounds like you are using much more fossil fuel than me.

Blaming it on turbo tax is ridiculous. Turbo Tax does not make the laws favoring the rich that you are taking advantage of. Dodging taxes while complaining about others that do the same. Liberals are hypocrites. They will take whatever they can get, withhold whatever they can for themselves, support illegal immigration so others can keep their profits for themselves rather than pay livable wages...and then call foul when someone else does the same.

Demand that the rich "pay" for the things they want and not contribute their fair share themselves. No wonder you make up nonsensical objections to the FAIR TAX. Follow the money, always follow the money.

Thanks for your posts, very enlightening

You are paying much less than 2% income tax. That is NOT fair. But it explains why you oppose FAIR TAX, please spare the attempts at nonsensical explanations of how FAIR TAX is bad...it is bad for your wallet. Follow the money.

And what is that, section 8 housing?

Actually, I believe the preferred capitalization and spacing of the movement is "FairTax": http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer

Though that is a lot less shouty and you don't get to use the space bar.

New Orleans had a lot of very fluid properties a while back.

None of which are good investments for poor people.
