you still have a couple weeks before you get to the guesstimate timeline.

I keep worrying about getting an RFE.

Actually, the "guestimate" from VJ suggests that I should have heard something by now.

I have been monitoring two other cases besides mine (one that ends in 69 and one that ends in 86). My case ends in 79. The 69 and 86 hadn't been touched for some time, but this week they both got RFEs... Those were both filed about the same time that mine was filed, and both are I-129f petitions. First, I'm unsure as to why I've been passed in sequence. Secondly, I wonder if I will also get an RFE since my petition is taking longer than the most recently approved petitions...

your worrying too much :) each adjudicator processes petitions in the order that they receive them. if the person adjudicating your petition goes on vacation for 2 week then all his cases get put on hold for those 2 week. also some adjudicators work faster than others and some get a complicated case which slow all his other cases down.

So, the cases are assigned in rotation to the adjudicators?

im not totally sure how they decide who gets what petition but yeah i imagine that will be how it works. i know it is frustrating to see people that filed after you get approved before you but there are also a lot of people that filed before you that are still waiting. yours will come soon :)

I wanted to share our happy news that our I-129F petition was approved. I received the notice in the mail today and have updated our timeline. One question: I thought the next step was that the Vermont Service Center sends the packet to the National Visa Service Center. My letter states "The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate (Kiev). Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance....". Does this mean that our info won't be going to the National Visa Service Center and instead, directly to the consulate in Kiev? Anyway, I am so happy and excited - I want to call my fiance now but its 2:25 in Ukraine and I dont want to wake her, so instead I am telling all my friends here on VJ ! I know its only the first step but at least we're in process !! I wish everyone good luck with your journeys as well.

Richard

They all go to NVC, regardless of what the letter states. Save that letter, send her a copy along with all the other documents you have been gathering. You'll also need to send a copy along with your AOS documents, I believe. Congrats....getting closer, about 2-3 months more until interview.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
