No body could ever question who you love, when to love, and where to love --- the same thing with when you get married. No matter how tough the consulate is. If you have all the proof and evidence they needed and you followed the instructions religiously, and most importantly, your "partner" knows everything about your relationship, and has this sense of confidence within self, he/she will be fine :) cross fingers!

well yes it is definitely expensive however i run a bussiness and im very busy so i needed help filing for my husband. however im doing my own research and making sure i definitely understand this process. but the lawyer is very helpful for me. im doing okay finacially so thats not even my problem. i checked with the USCIS and they stated i should received a decision sometime by april 14 because the california service center is currently takiong 5months to process petitions. and yes my husband has to have confidence and faith. i appreciate all you all replies. so if i complete my timeline guys i really dont have one as of yet right? all i have is the USCIS Receit. i dont have any of the NOA1 OR NOA2 stuff i see you guys post

1. change yer profile to CR-1 visa type

2. you have a receipt notice - that's the NOA-1 document.

3. you have two timeticks already for yer timeline - the marriage date and the NOA-1 date. Please start a timeline, todayish.

K-3 visas suck. It's ok - you posted in the wrong forum - but you really should understand the backlash on pursuing a K-3 visa:

K-3 administratively closed - http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/02/07/department-of-state-to-close-k-3-visas-if-i-129f-and-i-130-petitions-approved-and-received-together/

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Im new to VJ, hello guys! Ok so me and my husband met in aug 2010 through mutual friends, we talked and gradually became partners. He proposed to me in Jan 2011 and we got married in sept 2011. Thing is we decided to get married on my 1st visit to Lagos. I deeply love my husband and I hope the embassy doesn't think it's fraud cause I married him on my first visit. We just got back from our honeymoon in duiba. This was our second time seeing each other. I plan to go back to Lagos in June. What do u guys think ? We instantly connected and knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I just hope they don't see a problem with that. I have been reading all u guys post and I'm preparing well for the interview stage with lots of pics, emails, skype. I need input??

I did the same thing I married on my first visit. I don't think it matters cos during the interview they didn't even mention that and they saw my passport so they know my first visit there and our marriage cert. shows the date we were married. No Problem at all.

Welcome to VJ.

There are many factors that go into visa approval. You need to make sure that you are well prepared for the interview. Lagos is a tough consulate to get an approval from. I would suggest you read some of the embassy reviews to see what kinds of questions are being asked. Every case is different. So even if people who got married on the first visit got approved, there are other circumstances particular to each case that go into whether someone gets approved or denied.

You can love each other all you want, but for the purposes of immigration, you need to be aware of what you need to prove to the CO that you are a legit couple. Do not depend solely on your lawyer for tips on how to get through this process. Has your lawyer dealt with Lagos before?

Good luck.

I have an on-going relationship with my wife from May 2009 on her first visit on march 2011 we got married and my visa application she file immediately she got back to the state. I will only say that at the interview stage, it is a different issue....the just have to look at the supporting evidences for on going relation...but the most important thing is for the applicant to show confident and natural in answering the questions. If you can not control your nervousness by not thinking much when answering about the question concerning your spouse Bio and vice versa...it is indicating something to the IO and he/she will press you more and that will lead to something bad...so my advice be prepare, know every detail about your spouse by heart and go with all the evidence and just think positive...they are friendly and professional there...so the answer to your question is...it is not early
