When I woke up this morning I notice I had a missed call from an odd number at 5:30am my time. Checked my voice mail and it was the US Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria. The lady was hard to understand because she had a thick accent, she did NOT leave a call back number!! What I can make out is she said something about "requesting an interview" and something about a "care package". Does anyone know what this means?? I thought I would receive a letter from NVC notifying me that my file had been sent to Nigeria but I didnt. I called USCIS this morning but they were absolutely no help. Now I am freaking out lol any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.....THANKS!

Email them to find out if they contacted you...LagosIV@state.gov. Someone else posted today saying their fiance' got a call from someone they thought was at USCIS asking if he spoke English.

Be careful

Calling them will yiel no results as no one hardly answers their phones and even if they do...they are staff that will tell you oint blank they cannot help you or tranfer to someone who can. Your best bet is to email them with your NVC case number in the subject line, then state exactly what you heard from the call and ask for clarification.

All the best.

The consulate is terrible about answering the phone. Call NVC and figure out what your LGS case number is , then send an email to Lagos using that number in the subject line. You case probably got there a while ago. They are probably wondering if you are going to request an interview and were trying to tell you about your case package ( the only thing I can think of that sounds like care ) You should be able to download your package to medical and all from the Embassy website under immigrant visas. If you are really nice to the NVC operator they may be able to tell you if they can see an interview date in their system.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
