Does anyone else ever get asked for the work verification letter at the K1 interview? What happens?

No matter what I do, I cannot convince anyone here to give me such a letter. We have this awful "theworknumber.com" thing, which let me print out a web page that says the usual work info, plus it claims on this page that it is suitable to present to "immigration". Other than the detail that I have to "digitally sign" by logging in in order to print this, no one actually signs this. In addition to this, what I do have is: W-2, pay stubs, bank statements showing regular direct deposits, ITRs, and 1040's. Is this enough, or are they actually going to require a letter printed on company letterhead (no one uses letterhead anymore BTW) and signed by HR?

The interview is Feb 21; we're just about out of time.

Your HR department should not have an issue with printing out a work verification that shows your hire date, job postion, standing with the company and what your salary, hourly or yearly pay is. If they do then you work for a bad company. It is not mandatory to have the letter, it is just nice to present it with your I-134 packet. If they refuse to make a letter then just include the printable letter you have and if needed have it notarized. The more important documents are your tax returns, provide the last 3 years and at least 6 months of the most recent paycheck stubs. The letter from your bank would be nice also. Take care and good luck.

I do have the letter from the bank also (which was difficult because they don't normally list deposits, so the nice bank employee was worried about losing her job about doing this, yet did it anyway).

And, it isn't that it is a "bad company"... it is just huge, and one that every last person in the world here is well familiar with (sorry I can't divulge the name). So, there is no "HR" per se.... just a "services center" and all they do is tell me to fill out this form and send in, which they then ignored both times I sent it. Due to the size, a lot of the administration type stuff resembles the kind of nonsense you see in government departments. If I call back again, he'll just tell me to fill out the form again... there is no actual human I can talk to whose job it is to collect the forms and do what was requested!

So, will I be okay? I'm very worried....

And by the way, I don't know what it would mean to try to have the web page notarized.... the bank employee really can't verify that I really did go to a web page. Maybe I could write up a separate letter that I sign myself in front of a notary, declaring that this is really printed out from the official work verification web site where I work... no idea though...

I just typed up a letter in form of a Army memo , and then had my Squad leader sign it. It worked. Perhaps you could just type up what you make , who you work for , and your position and have them sign it ?

Forget the notarized thing. That only applies to signatures and is not required. Too much misinformation running around.

I could, if only my boss weren't in the UK. Sometimes, distributed software development has its disadvantages.

I work for major airline and they started using the same "the worknumber.com" to verify wages and employment. Its horrible and even by direct manager had problems getting into it. From searching the threads you will be okay with pay stubs and taxes and if you been with same company. I am able to bring my entire history of 14yrs of rate of pay.

Honestly if your job is safe and you know your there for awhile ,just slam the signature on it , Its not like they will call and verify.

I received a letter today, although there is no hand written signature... it just says the name of the department that printed the letter. I guess this is a little better, but they tell me it is their policy to never put a signature on it.

And no, I'm not just writing any old signature on the bottom. I don't even know the name of someone to put there. The department that sends these out has hundreds of nameless employees.
