Hi everyone!

My USC wife is sending out the I-130 package tomorrow to the AZ lockbox.

She lives in CA so e do expect to end up in a storage facility somewhere in southern California for months on end. I can see the current processing times at the CSC are about 112 days.

I have seen east coast filers on here though end up at CSC, while I've also seen west coast filers end up at VSC.

Is it completely random which service center we end up at? From processing timelines on here it looks like VSC is at 30 days(!?!?).

That's a 2 - 3 month difference from CSC. What are our odds of ending up in Vermont, and would it make a difference if my wife addressed VSC on the cover letter rather than the CSC?

Thanks in advance!

Initial assignment is not random. Files can be moved later on if the USCIS decides to case load balance, but that is it.

YMMV

So initially it will be transferred to CSC no matter what? And if there's a massive difference in case load it could be transferred to VSC from the CSC?

Exactly. We can't choose although it would be nice if we could...but of course that would cause an overload at both instead of just one. Hopefully, CSC will be catching up soon and their wait times will decrease.

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures to USCIS Service Centers. Topic is about assignment of a petition to a service center from intake facility; a procedure that affects all petition types submitted to USCIS, not just spousal visa petitions.

sorry, but i don´t agree with that.It is totally random! my husband lives in VA according to the USCIS hp VA petitions go to Vermont, ours was sent to California both times!!! We even called them asking about it and a Tier 2 officer finally told us that it is totally random where they send the petitions! Especially in our case you´d think they´d have sent it to Vermont considering that California is (and already was back then)seriously backlogged...
