I knew you'd romanticise that, lol

imagine how many hungry people it coulda fed? Try feeding people sentiment, see how filling that is ;)

That's right! We should get the Vatican to start auctioning off all those relics and art pieces because there are starving people in this world.

I think the woman did a very unselfish deed. She could have lived lavishly and p!ssed her money away but didn't. She saved it for a better cause to help make a difference in the world she was leavingbehind. One should not get all bent out of shape assuming this woman had family to give it to. maybe she didn't have children. Even if she did, it's possible they didn't give a rat's A$$ about her so she didn't want to swander the money on ingrates that would waste it. However anyone who would save that kind of money to give to other's is hardley selfish, far from it infact. I'm sure if she had family she would have given them a portion. Who knows maybe she did! You know the media..they only tell part of the story that will make headlines. Anyways..if only my name was charity lol.

if she'd been living with her old aunt for years, and then inherited her aunt's house upon her death, and there's no mention of children, why should assume there are children or other family? I personally doubt there are. Otherwise she'd have been spending her money on her children long before she died.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

The story also mentions that she made anonymous donations to individuals who appeared to be in need, going to great lengths to maintain her anonymity - possibly as much to ensure that the people would accept such a large gift as well as to protect her own privacy. She sounds like a private person, not a selfish one. The Nature Conservancy of Canada is an excellent organization that does a lot of great environmental work, much of it not mainstream, headline-making news, but things that very much need doing. I applaud her choice and her generosity.

To answer the question what if I found out my own mother was a millionaire and didn't leave her money to me? Well, I would feel hurt, yes, but I would accept it as I would also recognize that it was her money and her choice. If my parents want to spend everything they have and leave me none, I am fine with that - it is their money, not mine.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
