Yes it does. Contact from the USCIS is never the best. Email and text notices sometimes do not make it. You should see a NOA in the mail soon. Once you have your case number, you can also track on their web site. We had gotten email notices on the AOS up until this week when we found out via the web site the EAD card was sent to production without a text or email notice. It just happens. Certain letters that some get, others never seem to get, we've seen that to. You could try calling and checking to verify, but at this point they'd probably just tell you to wait 30 days to get the NOA.

Also, when your bank scans in your cashed check and makes it available for viewing, look

on the back where they endorsed it; I think your receipt number will be on there

You may not get your check back for review. When my personal check was processed by USCIS, the funds were transferred from my account to USCIS by electronic fund transfer. My subsequent bank statement just shows the amount, the payee (USCIS Electronic Withdrawal) and the date. The USCIS has started using electronic fund transfer from checking accounts when a personal check is tendered for payment, please refer to USCIS - Paying Immigration Fees.

Bottom line....If they have the money, they have received your documents.

Good luck.
