Currently - 30 to 45 days, based on what's been reported in the NVC January 2012 Thread and the Timelines.

This could change, next month.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

When can I submit an expedite in the NVC stage? When they get the papers?

Nope, not until you get a case number, unfortunately. And getting the case number is the longest part.

Establish a calling pattern, aye?

Have the USCitizen Spouse CALL IN to NVC - then

when the CaseFile # for Brazil is assigned, ask a TeleOperator to send via email,

The AOS FEE Bill.

WHEN THE AOS FEE BILL is received in the USCitizen's email box,

then NVC is ready to do stuff.

IMO, that's the first point, the first timetick, that requesting an expedite can be done.

There's specific process and procedure for requesting the expedite at NVC - you'll need to ask about it, inquire.

USUALLY stuff gets sent into SuperVisor PI/PL Sue, but you'll know more about this, on a personal level, soonish.

There are too many factors to know in advance. Mine just took total time from NOA1 to interview: 267 days or 9 months. No RFE's. But some people sail through from end-to-end in 4 or 5 months. It depends on the service center you get sent to, their current workload, any RFE's, the country, other factors I'm not aware of. Maybe winter is a better time to file the documents, maybe there are less applicants right now.
