Notice of Interview Cancellation by USCIS

Hi,

Recently we have changed the our mailing address from San Francisco to San Jose. But then, the same date we called USCIS, the San Francisco USCIS office immediately mailed a notice to CANCEL our interview scheduled on Oct 12, 2006. The content of the notice is as follows:

"This is to advise you that, due to unforeen circumstances, we have canceled the previously scheduled interview on Thursday, October, 2006 at 01:15PM for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. You will be notified of any further action taken on this case, including any reschdeduled interview information, under separate notice."

Now we wonder what the 'unforseen circumstances" are cuz we just changed the "MAILING ADDRESS" from SF to San Jose, while our residential address is always in San Jose. Has anyone received this kind of notices before? And will it affect our interview ( i mean, will it be postponed to months later)?

Thanks.

Mine was cancelled. Subsequently rescheduled for a week or so later. Online status still says This Interview has been cancelled. Again, more fodder and par for the course in dealing with USCIS.

Good luck in getting rescheduled shortly. ALso should you go 30 days past your local office's processing time, you can make an infopass appt or call USCIS to inquire for you.

lal_brandow,

Thanks for your reply. I really hope that I'll receive another interview appointment notice soon. Btw, the cancellation letter was dated Sept 20... now I still haven't got any further notice...

My hubby just called USCIS to see what's going on... and they just said that in the system it shows that our interview has been cancelled. But then he told us that they're only having interviews of Mar/ Apr applications now. That's totally bullshit! So they're saying that our case is too early to have interview and so they cancelled it?!

Anyways, basically they know nothing other than our interview has been cancelled. And they don't even know when we'll get our further notice...
