Misspelled name on NOA1

Hello all,

I got my NOA1 in the mail a few days ago and it had my fiance's name misspelled. I called USCIS and they said it would be corrected. I just got an e-mail saying that it now has been corrected, but that they are not sending a new notice as "it would serve no purpose to do so." Will this cause in problems if I have an NOA1 with a spelling error? I was going to send a copy to my fiance so he can bring it in when he comes to visit me in a few months, to prove that we filed for a K1 Visa.

01/13/2012 I-129F sent via USPS

01/16/2012 I-129F delivered

01/17/2012 NOA1 date on USCIS website

01/20/2012 Text and E-Mail Notification of NOA1!

01/20/2012 Check Cashed

01/23/2012 NOA1 Hardcopy

01/23/2012 Called USCIS to report that my fiance's name was misspelled on the NOA1

01/24/2012 Touched

01/26/2012 Received response to report, e-mail states error has been corrected.

07/12/2012 NOA2! It took 177 days.

NOA1 is not important. The important one is the NOA2 which a copy of it is included in the AOS package.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

You will not need your Receipt Notice in the future. Presumably, your Approval Notice will have the fiance's name spelled correctly when you receive that.

I agree, you should send him a copy of NOA1 with the email from USCIS saying that they corrected the spelling and they would not send you a new one :)

Thank all of you for your suggestions :) I did forward him a copy of the e-mail, and he will bring it with him to the airport. The e-mail had his name right, so everything should be fine for my file.
