question regarding I-864 packet & DS-230 packets

Hi guys,

I called NVC and finally got my case # and invoice # today. I also found out that in their system they had a typo and put petitioner and beneficiary first name same. A nice lady said she is going to forward this to a supervisor to have them pull original I-130 and have them fix that. I still went ahead and emailed them my copy of I-130 and also a request to fix the name error.

My question for VJ was though should I wait now to receive the I-864 & DS-230 packets from NVC or should I just go ahead and send that over to them since I have all the documents ready.

Also should I wait for them to fix the petitioner name error and than e-mail over the DS-3032 or is it ok to e-mail that at this time?

Jay

You have to pay AOS fee and IV fee before sending I-864 and DS-230 packets to them. Just wait for them to send you those invoices now. I just got case number and invoice number yesterday too, and now I am waiting for their fee bills.

Yah I just got my IIN number today and waiting for the fees to be generated. I know i have to pay those fees and print out the bar code page to put in front of the packets. My question is it okay to send my I-864 & DS-230 packets if I have that bar code page.... even if I have not received the packets from NVC?

You'll still have to wait for each fee to be invoiced and changed to PAID before you can send the packages. NVC does not send you any packet anyway. The instructions are all online, accessible once you've paid the corresponding fee.

Do NOT send the DS-230 package before you were able to pay the IV fee, they might reject it and your original documents would be lost in postal limbo...

I finally went on today and paid the IV fees even though I could have done it a few weeks ago.

Wanted to get my petitioners back taxes done and sent in before we went any further.

Didn't owe anything, had just never filed since 2007..Figures it is 8,9 and 10 that we needed to have for all this.

I will probably be able to go on and do the 260 in the next couple of days.

Thanks everyone for your quick replies. I got the email last Wednesday to pay for the I-864 fees and paid them off the same day. I was able to print out the bar code sheet yesterday. Now waiting on the IV fees to be generated so I can pay those as well. Do you guys recommend to go ahead and mail the I-864 packet or wait for the IV fees and send all the documents to NVC together?
