Got Case # but Letter from USEM not received

My Fiancee received the NVC Letter saying that I-129F has been approved and a case number is assigned already. This NVC letter was received Jan 4,2012. However up to now, the letter from US Em Phil to the applicant has not been received yet after 3 weeks. Is this normal? How important is that letter? Is that letter the same as the Packet 3 which will have the instructions? Can I go ahead and go for medical and schedule the interview even though this letter I have not received?

I emailed the US Embassy and no reply yet for a week now. Anyone have experience same as this?

Thanks for your replies..

The letter from the embassy is worthless. Go pay your Visa fee at BPI. Wait approx 6-8 hours then schedule your interview on-line . All you need is your MNL number and passport. downlad the forms for your interview. I am fairly certian the Manila embassy no longer sends a packet, just the letter. My wife never got a letter and has been here almost 3 months.

Don't sit and wait for that letter. If you have the MNL # get rock 'n' rollin!!

The Beneficiary needs to get over to BPI with their passport and pay the visa fee then wait a day before going online at the manila embassy to schedule an interview, complete all the forms ONLINE. Register with St. Lukes to get the physical done. Gather the CENOMAR, NBI, certified copies of birth certificate, passport photos (6 will do if I remember right).

Read the Guide section here on the VJ forum for more information.

cool, thanks for the info. Do you know if somebody else can pay for me the BPI Visa k1 fee as I am not in the Philippines now. I only need the BPI receipt reference(with MNL# and passport) to do the online interview appointment right?

I'm planning to ask someone to pay the BPI for me as I'm out of country. It's only my Passport # and Case# that is required from me to do the complete payment?

What is the "NVC letter"? All we have so far is an email response from NVCResearch saying what the number is. I hope a printout of that is sufficient for us.

It is the letter from the NATIONAL VISA CENTER that contains your MNL case number. Print that email response with the number on it which is your MNL number I believe or you can bring your NOA2 hardcopy just make 2 copies of it during the medical. And also the confirmation of your online registration for medical, 3 pcs 2x2 pics and your passport make also 2 copies of passport. Make 2 copies and your ready :)

I paid the BPI yesterday (350 dollars equivalent to 15,400 pesos)and schedule my interview lastnight. Just bring passport.

Do you know if somebody else can pay for me? I'm not in Philippines right now, do you think that person can just simply show my passport and show the NVC Mail printout to BPI ?

print out should be just fine, it is the MNL # that is the key and most important.

I was really surprised this morning when I got the letter from the Embassy. I thought I could not get it anymore. It was sent via AIR 21.

what are the contents of the letter? Do you think it is relevant and necessary to the interview? Is this letter same as the "Appointment Letter"?
