Finding work/getting a work visa after earning a teaching degree/certification in the US?

I'm current researching the prospect of enrolling in an Education program (with teacher certification) in the States. I'm aware of the visa requirements as a student, but

but I'm wondering what my options are once I've graduated and received my certification (as far as I have read, there are no limitation to receiving a teaching certificate as a Canadian). My primary objective is to return to Canada to look for work, but I'm unsure of my options for employment in the States if the job search at home does not work out. My degree/certification would require practical experience in an educational setting during my studies, so I would be making using of the pre-completion OPT. Butmy concern is with the options available to me after completing my studies. Does completing my education in the States help my cause at all? If anyone has any insight through their own experiences or of others they know, it would be much appreciated.

Canadians have the option of TN Visa's assuming you qualify.

You would be most likely be looking in the private sector.

A good question to ak you college advisor.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Teachers are not generally qualified under TN

I am Canadian, I am a teacher in the US and I was educated in the US. I can tell you that your US education doesn't mean anything as the fact that you are Canadian and will require some sort of sponsorship scares employers. Especially in this day (I am not sure what state you are from but most are totally out of money) the assumed cost of sponsorship is more than a BOE is willing to take on

Now, that was my experience, having multiple BOEs tell me "come back when you are legal" jadded my opinion of them.

What specific questions do you have and what state are you looking in?

Good luck
