Got our NOA2 approval Jan 13. Yesterday I called the NVC and was told they don't have us in the system yet, call back later. The woman I spoke to made it sound like it would be a 1-2 month wait (which didn't seem right). If you recently found out your case number from the NVC what was your NOA2 date? Wondering how long this stage will take and trying to send package 3 soon!

I just got off the phone. My petition was approved January 6. They received it yesterday and have assigned a case number and the gentleman told me it usually take 2-4 weeks to leave for the consulate, though sometimes it is sooner than that.

Approved Jan 12, received at NVC and case number assigned on Jan 20. I'm planning to call tomorrow to see if it has left for the consulate yet. Fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear they don't have you logged yet. Like most else in this process, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how they do things.

The K-1 Visa journey for myself and my two K-2 children:

Do not send P 3 to the embassy until & unless you are Certian they have you case at the I V unit. If it is sent too soon they will discard the documents because they do not keep files for the cases.

I totally agree with Ning, don't send the p3 documents yet. You might ensure to have a case number forwarded to the IV section of the US Embassy in Bangkok before submitting the packet 3.

I understand the feeling coz I have had it and am still waiting on my interview. The fact that you guys got 84 days approval for NOA2, that's something to celebrate for. Not all couples are as lucky as you. So, join the club!

I got my NOA2 on Jan 4th and my fiance start to called NVC after we got NOA2 about 10 days and they told us that our case wasn't in the system yet but keep calling them it might take around 15 days

My fiance calling them everyday and on Jan 19th he called again and the guy said they got our case since 16th and please keep calling them

Finally we got case number the next day on Jan 20th

so It took 16 days on my case

and you cant send the package 3 if you don't have case number because on DS-2001 you have to fill your case number, right?
