You are applying based on 5-year residency and you do not need to submit any tax return transcripts. Order the 5 year tax return transcripts from the IRS and have them with you during the interview just in case the officer asks for them. Do not send them in with your application.

Here is a list of what you need to submit:

1. Filled out N-400 form.

2. Photocopy of front AND back of green card.

3. Two passport-style photos

4. Check for the fees ($680)

If you're applying after five years, you don't have to send ANY tax documents with your application. You just have to tick the box that says 'yes, I've been good and paid Uncle Sam every year'.

Karen - Melbourne, Australia/John - Florida, USA

- Proposal (20 August 2000) to marriage (19 December 2004) - 4 years, 3 months, 25 days (1,578 days)

STAGE 1 - Applying for K1 (15 September 2003) to K1 Approval (13 July 2004) - 9 months, 29 days (303 days)

STAGE 2A - Arriving in US (4 Nov 2004) to AOS Application (16 April 2005) - 5 months, 13 days (164 days)

STAGE 2B - Applying for AOS to GC Approval - 9 months, 4 days (279 days)

STAGE 3 - Lifting Conditions. Filing (19 Dec 2007) to Approval (December 11 2008)

STAGE 4 - CITIZENSHIP (filing under 5-year rule - residency start date on green card Jan 11th, 2006)

*N400 filed December 15, 2011

*Interview March 12, 2012

*Oath Ceremony March 23, 2012.

ALL DONE!!!!!!!!

Yes You must send a copy of divorce decree . Go To USCIS website and check N400 Forms , it will tell you Document Lists you will need , Fees, and Whos Eligible etc in there.

not when you're apply through the 5 year rule, you can take the taxes to the interview just in case. for 3 year rule, yes you have to send proof of bonafide marriage, which includes taxes.

any insight in how to actually order 5 years of transcripts when the IRS only provides current year and 3 prior years?
