I'm married to a USC, applying for AOS. My wife doesnt make enough money to be the sponsor, but our friend makes more than 16 500$ yearly. USCIS site says, send in the most recent W-2 tax returns for the year. The problem is, he only made about 14 000$ last year. Now however, he is making a lot more, enough money to qualify. I called USCIS like 3 times, and all the people I've talked to, told me that as long as I provide his tax info and attach proof of how much money does he make, I should be fine. But I am still not sure. Is what USCIS told me by phone, correct? Thanks.

You could try if that's your only option, I was debating the same thing, my (USC) wife's friend made about 14,000 and was well above that this year, but we decided to find somebody else, since they may well ask for previous 2 years tax returns too, and then we'd be screwed.

Yeah, thanks for the reply. Anyone had real expirience with filling papers with a sponsor like mine?
