Was this incident one which ended in your arrest?

Although Iv'e had plenty of incidents that ended up in me getting arrested, that wasn't one of them.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

I think I posted something similar to this in another thread here awhile back. Not sure.

I worked on a dairy farm for a couple years when I was a teenager. The cattle were 99% female of course, since bulls don't produce milk. The bulls were always kept separate from the cows. The farm would purchase the semen from a catalog based on the children of the bulls based on milk production of it's offspring. Anyway, all of the cows were artificially inseminated. The trick was you had to figure out when they were in heat/ovulating. They had two ways of doing this.

1. They would put these blister packs on their back just forward of their tail. When enough pressure was applied it would break and turn red. Meaning that the females were mounting each other when the one on the bottom was ovulating.

2. They had an old man that watched them all day and would get the number of the cow on the bottom.

When they came into the barn, the one on the bottom was artificially inseminated. Basically if these "lesbian" cows didn't exhibit behavior like that, it would've been tough for that place to survive.

Just my observation about animals and homosexuality.

Nobody is born gay. Situations and decisions in someone's life leans them towards the gay side. ect. being molested as a child. Failed parenting. social associations. To say someone is born gay is the same as saying Tiger Woods was born with the talent to play golf. Tiger Woods got it in his head one day that he was going to play golf and he became the best at it through years of training and playing. Gay people can be delivered and set straight. I have seen it first hand.

This reminds me of the time my cousin told me that a person he knew became gay because he stumbled on to some porn, true story. A lot of people are born gay and some are confused.

It seems we have agreement here.

The whole Concept that homosexuality is something Gays are born with is not true, though it could very well be the case with SOME gay folk.

I would argue that MOST gay people are born that way and the others need counseling, especially Anne Heche.

Suggesting homosexuality is caused by child abuse is offensive. Please remember that there are members on Visa Journey who have gay family members and such comments are both insulting and insensitive.

Scientific evidence indicates that homosexuality is not a 'choice', that it has a genetic link probably predicated by certain hormonal influences during pregnancy. This excerpt, while not from a scientific source, provides a good explanation for the author of the above articles experience:

http://www.redding.com/news/2008/jun/17/are-we-born-gay-science-suggests-yes/

Homosexuality is not unique to humankind either. People are just one species among many, many, many that practice homosexuality: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_displaying_homosexual_behavior

I seriously doubt that every single case of these homosexual animals was caused by molestation, failed parenting or associating with other homosexuals.

For the most part I agree but I think its fair to say that some sexual abused children are confused about their sexuality and need help.

That's what happens when you don't let the bulls in with the cows. In nature...bulls and cows run together in a herd and when the cow comes in heat, the bull mounts her and they breed.

Yeah good point. I'd like to see the rates of homosexuality in jails/prisons versus the free world. I guess at the end of the day people/animals just want to get laid.

Exactly, Lock me up for a decade and I might resort to some deviant sex myself.

Would that mean it's normal> No because I would be in a highly unnatural condition.

There are reports of people eating children in times of extreme starvation as well but I hardly think we can assume that is the normal course of action for all people everywhere.

Actually domesticated animals are not really representative of nature any way due to the centuries of unnatural breeding patterns.

Our female pekinese often humps our female Persian cat so that is interspecies homosexuality. Alla says it is the reason we live in Vermont!

If that mention of sex offends someone reading a thread about the sexual preferences of a star of a popular TV series about sex...oh well, get over it.

So she's bi-sexual leaning towards same sex relationships. What's the issue, Danno?

Ding ding ding!

Too bad Danno and his ilk will simply hold onto this misnomer as their proof that gay people choose their lifestyle.

I wonder Danno, how do you know you're heterosexual and not homosexual. If as you say, sexuality is a mere choice that we make at some point in life, I'd like to know when you made that decision. Did you compare it to other alternatives, or did you just go straight to hetero? I hope you made an informed decision, and not an nescient assumption with no information to support your claims and decision.

If you read the article carefully, you'll see that Cynthia Nixon is saying that she was not born gay, she has chosen to be gay. That stance is very controversial among gays.

Actually, if you read the article carefully, you'll see that Cynthia Nixon is partially mistaken. She is bi-sexual, not homosexual. It is her choice to enter into a homosexual relationship with her current partner, based on biological urges she has. However, she has said several times that she still finds men attractive, she just prefers women at this time.

cynthia nixon clarifies gay comments

the advocate; 20 jan 2012

"My recent comments in The New York Times were about me and my personal story of being gay. I believe we all have different ways we came to the gay community and we can't and shouldn't be pigeon-holed into one cultural narrative which can be uninclusive (sic) and disempowering.

"However... I would like to clarify: While I don't often use the word, the technically precise term for my orientation is bisexual. I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact. What I have 'chosen' is to be in a gay relationship...

"I do... believe that most members of our community - as well as the majority of heterosexuals - cannot and do not choose the gender of the persons with whom they seek to have intimate relationships because, unlike me, they are only attracted to one sex.

"Our community is not a monolith, thank goodness, any more than America itself is. I look forward to and will continue to work toward the day when America recognizes all of us as full and equal citizens."
