Just looking to see if anyone has had a recent interview in Moscow. I know there are a few coming up, October will be a good month for some VJ'ers, but I would definitely like to hear about someone elses results. We tend to always hear about the bad things. Just looking for some things on how the interview was. The last Moscow review was from June or July I think.

16/10/2006- Interview date- I'm nervous and my fiance is cool calm and collective. And she's the one that has to do the interview.

Same to you Jim. I know they both talk at least once a week. I'll give you an update after the interview so Tatiana will know what to expect. She told me you guys were looking for a place for her to stay. I got super lucky because I travel for work and I was able to get a hotel stay for her for 6 nights for free. Which totally rocks. Talk soon.

I had interview last month. And know several girls who were through this this month. But I don't think he needs any help. He pisses people off if he hears not what he wants.

This guy travlnmannn completely pissed me off in another topic. I just came from my wedding and saw his post, how he called me "Short of a woman". I am not native English speaker and I guess this is a kind of discrimination from this guy.

No need to help such rude people like him.

I guess it is a small world. My fiancee's interview is also on October 16. I think there are 15 interviews scheduled for that day, or at least according to the embassy's website. We have her medical scheduled for Thursday October 12. We are not worried about the interview since Irina is fluent in English, and we have plenty of documents supporting our ongoing relationship and the income requirements. I also heard that as long as you can convince them of the ongoing relationship, there is nothing to worry about. Good Luck!

Thats cool that your interview is on the 16th as well. My fiancee is also doing her medical on Thursday. She gets into Moscow on Wednesday. She's staying at the Holiday Inn which is pretty close to the Embassy. Only one metro stop away from there. I travel for work so I get hotel stays for free. That damn hotel is $400/night. Getting it for free. Also my fiancee speaks english so I'm not worried as well. I was just curious about what kinds of questions were asked. I checked out a list a questions but just wanted to see what was common to Moscow. Good luck on your interview.

Did you know that a typical one bedroom apartment can be found in Moscow between $500 to $1000 per month? Why in the world would anyone pay $200 a night? A Russian lady can then take that monthly rental and drop it by half through negotiation if she is staying less than a week.

Go to http://irr.ru/ or check out the local paper in Moscow.

Better yet!!

But did you see the apartment? I was able to pay for the whole thing here with CC and I got them to pick her up and drop her off at the train station. Why would anyone pay $400 for a hotel room.

I know a RW who got a hotel room for about $75 a night. But it is 7 miles from the center.

Anyway different people want different things....

Are you kidding, I wanted the exact same apartment you are paying for! But I could never afford it and still can't. In my day, we stayed two nights at a horrible Moscow hostel for $50 a night. And the rest of the time for free in a suburb of Moscow that was about 25 miles away at her uncles flat. But public transportation is awesome in Moscow. Even from our distant spot we could make it to anywhere in Moscow in about 1 hour. Train ride from Korelov to Moscow was 9 rubles one way at the student rate.

CONGRATS. I posted a congrats in another thread Congrats again. Looks like it was a pretty easy interview. I think the interviewers can pretty much tell whats real and whats not. Or maybe they have reviewed whats come from NVC before the interviews. Good luck on the rest of your journey !!!!! As I said in the other post. Let me be one of the first ones to Welcome Anna to America !!!!
