Hello

My wifes fiance visa were denied last year and after the rejection we filled for Cr-1 and she has got an interview scheduled for next month at the Mumbai embassy...

The reason for k1 rejection was that we had gotten married traditionally....but we didn't register the wedding and the plan was to do it in US...but somehow the came to know and my wife quickly admitted to the officer....

I wanted to know if anyone faced a similar situation and what to expect for the upcoming interview.....

I have heard of few similar cases out on waiver as well....I know they are going to ask her the question regarding....even though we were married why did we apply for K1.

Any help or feedback will be greatly appreciatd..

I don’t know why you lied in first place. You could had filed for CR1 and done whatever ceremony you wanted in US.

There was no reason to file for K1 when you guys were married, does not matter traditionally or married in court – for immigration you are married.

It prob should be the regular interview, how you met, was it arranged or love marriage? Who all attended the wedding, pics from wedding, have you two seen each other since marriage etc.

Not sure why you'd apply for K1, fiance visa if she is your wife. As Harsh_77 said "when you guys were married, does not matter traditionally or married in court – for immigration you are married."

As you already know they will be asking a lot of questions, she just needs to be prepared and answer all questions truthfully, with confidence and proof of on going relationship.

Hope all work out for you,

Stay positive,

Always be grateful, thankful and appreciate what you have.
