My I-129 was received on 1/19/2012. Finally got a confirmation text and email that it was received and forwarded to the California Service Center tonight. Now the uphill climb begins. I've a few problems with my application - looking at it from a consul's position :-(

I filed for divorce from my ex-husband 2 months after he arrived in the US with his I-130 visa because I found out he was cheating when I went home for my father's funeral. That was 7 years ago. I derived citizenship from my parents so I hope this will not be questioned by the consul. As well, my fiance was still legally married when we met and just finalized his divorce early November. He also has an immigrant visa petition (sibling) - maybe in 2-3 years a visa will be availabe. I'm not sure how this would play out. And we were introduced by his sister who filed for him. Last concern is that currently, I'm a doctoral student and his sister will be my co-sponsor :-(. I feel that the odds are against us but I'm trying to be positive. That maybe it is crapshoot. Hoping the consul will see in the photos the love and happiness we share when we're together.

Not really sure what I'm asking. I guess I'm just trying to vent and let go of my fears and doubts and think more positively.

Thank you all!
