I'm gonna try and apply for SSN tmrw or thursday.. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly... I read on the website that they shouldn't issue one unless you have a legal authorization to work.. which as a K1 we don't have.. it even asks on the application form... shall I tick "Legal Alien not allowed to work"?

Today is going to be interesting. My fiance just arrived for his flight from Dublin to JFK and they said that his flight won't do preclearance for immigration, and that they only do that for flights to Boston. Of course, when I was researching this before we booked the flight, it said all flights out of terminal 2. So now once he gets to JFK, he has only 2 hours to do immigration and customs before his last flight to get to my city. Fingers crossed.

You will not know until when ur fiancee gets here. Im hoping for all the best. 2 hours could be more than enough as well as it can be to little. it all depends on the traffic at immigration and how do they deal with K1s. when i got in @ ATL, the visitors line was long but they had two CBA that dealt with K1 and Spousal visas so i was process real quickly. I hope ur fiancee has a seat close to the front of the airline so he gets off fast.

Thank you! I'll learn to research more in the future. I told him to mention the problem to the flight attendant so that maybe they can move him to a closer seat if it's empty. I already have a worst case scenario planned out where I get a hotel for the night if he had to be on the next flight (which is 6 a.m.), but hopefully it won't come to that.

Yay! I'm happy for you guys!!

Looks like late spring / early summer for us! But, that will give us time to plan, save $$, de-clutter, pack up my house, give proper notice to my landlord, let the kids finish their school year (I'm going to pull them out as early as I can without them losing their year - so they will have an extra long summer ). Yes the wait is hard, but with each day and and each step forward, it gets easier knowing that we will have forever together to make up for it!
