No it is not true. You should ask for a copy only in case they lose it (which happens often). If they didn't give you a copy and you have the medical done within 1 year then you don't have to repeat it. However if they lose your results, they might ask you to go to the doctor with your vaccination record and he will have to fill in a I 693 form and you would have to send it to the USCIS. That's why it's good to have a copy but not required so do not stress

BTW DS-3025 is just a vaccine supplement and not the whole medical. Does it mean the doctor didn't want to give her that supplement or the copy of the whole medical? I got both but as far as I know, they should at least give you DS3025 unless Canadian doctors work in a totally different way...

And copy is just a copy, do not worry about the original signature on this occasion

After a bit online research, I noticed that the copy is not necessary and it is recommended in case they lose it! Anyhow, she will ask the embassy to give her a copy or else we should hope that they don't randomly lose our medical result

Well, the visa was not ready today......we went and waited in line early and he got in with Javi and the two of them were the last to come out and had nothing!!! Bummer. They were told to come back on Tuesday (5 hour bus trip one way) but they also said that it's not a sure thing that they will be ready on Tuesday!!! So we have to turn around and make the trip again..not knowing if we will get it on Tuesday or not. Frustrating. More time and money going into this crazy process! I am so glad that the interview is over and we are approved but I want to have that thing in my hands so I can focus on packing and moving!!! Any other good news out there??

Did you try calling DOS before traveling all the way there? They should have all the info whether the visa has been issued or not...

Sorry to hear that Beth. There should be a way of calling the embassy before you make that trip to make sure it is ready.

I got a little bit of good news today. Well great news actually, a huge weight lifted off my shoulder today when I received the final court order showing that not only do I have sole custody of my kids, I also have permission for them to move to the United States with me.

I had already spoken to their Dad and he had agreed to it, but it sure is a nice feeling to see it in black and white, and there will be no questions at the Embassy when we go for our interview.

I'm not Sabi, but I was able to find out from DOS when our visa was issued, so I think they would also know when it's printed. For us, the DOS always had more up-to-date information than the Embassy.

Yes, I am curious about this now, too. It's that they specifically told them (in Spanish) that they were not assuring them that it would be ready Tuesday but to come anyway. SOme guy asked what they were supposed to do then and they just said that that was all they could tell them.....and since the Embassy is the place printing it, I am not so sure that the DOS would be notified that it was printed and put into the passport.....would be nice, though!!! The DOS surely does get notified of issuance but printing seems like a small thing to be sending notifications about...who knows! Guess I will try calling on Monday and then again on Tuesday morning before leaving the house to go back down there.

DOS has a website in which you can track your visa applications status: DOS Visa Status

When you go to this website click on the status check of "Immigrants" for K1-Visas, then you can enter your embassy case number to see its status. Back in July, I was able to track that they have received our case from NVC and created a VISA application in their system for us. Few days later, it showed that they have scheduled our appointment. Sad thing is that the website is down since August! It says now that it is scheduled to reopen in mid October

I called DOS this morning (202-663-1225) with my MTL case number.. and asked.

Also, they emailed me my packet 3 this afternoon.

I have packet 3 ready to go Monday morning. I also paid my Visa fees at Scotia Bank today.

Looks like they are opening up some more interview dates in Montreal too, so hopefully I can sneak an

interview date in December while Rick is here.
