Well.. we waited for CARACAS to contact.. Rossana.. NOPE!

so i sent email late last nite..

low and behold! they responded!!

talk about SHORT AND SWEET!! LOL

so... Oct. 17th Is D-DAY! :):dance:

plenty of time to get papers together and send.. and for her to get stuff on her end..

little longer wait then expected.. but the END is NEAR!!

sorry to hear it took so long, mine is next week friday :dance:

i feel so bad for texas22, just continue to be strong and keep the faith. they cant hold you down forever. it will come soon

Hey L+T.. thanks for the info.

Not sure what the problem is... his divorce has been final since 2007. He originally sent them a stamped sealed signed letter from the county clerks office where his divorce took place to say that he was divorced in 2007. They did not accept this, they said this was a divorce nisi and not good enough.

So he copied and sent them his final divorce decree (which was 38 pages long).. for the RFE response. It shows all of the settlements, custody of the children and child support arrangements..

So who knows, perhaps the adjudicator is having some good reading... and taking his sweet time... :angry:

I think it is actually quite ridiculous... he is obviously divorced, has been for some time and is fully eligible to remarry. :bonk:

yes, a paper with nisi is not enough. just wondering about 30 day waiting period... ie, i was not able to obtain correct document until 90 days after divorce was filed with clerk. according to link, divorce in texas not final until paper signed by judge is filed with clerk and 30 days expire. i'm sure it was filed, but certified copy from clerk after 30 days would indiicate this better than a copy which may or may not have been filed. ie, it states in some counties the court files document, in others it is up to person to submit to clerk. anyway, it might be worthwile obtaining the certified copy from clerk which shows the final decree was actually filed and on what date... and have avail for your congress person watching your case. otherwise, i hope you are approved TODAY and have no worries!!!

I hope so too! I had to do all his forms (plus an additional one I didn't know about that was horribly time consuming) and mail them with my forms and relationship evidence so we are a little behind schedule. The second the papers get to him, I will email the Embassy for his interview (since they emailed me and not him for some reason). The Embassy in Kuwait has been very quick and responsive, so I'm hoping he will get an early interview date. We shall see! :)
