They don't forward medical results to the embassy until about two or three days later. Get him to talk to his GP now and he can get it mailed on to the medical place as soon as they do it. Most GP\s in England should do this fairly quickly. At the worst, you're looking at an extra week provided he gets on the phone NOW. So don't worry too much

Thanks! He called them an hour or so ago and they won't do it over the phone, so he has an appointment tomorrow. Hopefully it'll all be done then. I haven't had good experiences with American doctors sending important documents quickly, so it makes me paranoid. Hopefully he can get it done and posted out tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement :)

stay strong! maybe he will manage to get that letter quickly, fingers crossed!I know it's easy for me to say but chin up! This uncertainly all the way is a killer :(

It is. And we have to have 90 days notice if we want to move the wedding again, and that's next Tuesday. I can see no reason that we shouldn't be able to get him here in the next three months though.

Wish you the best.

Thank you!

Today is another day where I think that it would've been much easier for me to go to the UK than the other way around. Of course, with their new immigration policies, that's not even possible now. Sorry, I just feel like venting.

I hear ya. I'm definitely having one of those days myself.

Sorry to everyone I just added to facebook - I had to go into hiding after some drama this morning that resulted in lots of tears on my part. LOL. I'm just getting far too frustrated with this whole process, and it's not even close to being over. I just read in another thread that Montreal is scheduling interviews 2 months out right now too... I think the earliest I could POSSIBLY have a visa in hand is November. And I still don't even know if I'll get hit with an RFE.

I understand your frustration, I'm right there with you today. London is also known for scheduling 2 months out, though they've been better lately. I think they make it difficult on purpose, to see if you're serious. There are ways to avoid a few of the delays that I have had. Get your police certificate as soon as the NOA2 comes. That would've saved us at least 2 weeks. Also check the Canada subforum to see if there's anything else you can do early. The only control you have in this process is being prepared, and that can save a lot of grief and frustration. However, knowing that you will eventually have some control during this process can be helpful.

I've been reading up on the packet 3 requirements... I already requested my long-form birth certificate earlier this week... I wasn't sure about doing the Medical or the Police Clearance too far in advance, because I don't want them to expire on me (lord knows with my luck in this process, they would!!) and I've started making my list of all the times I've entered the USA (It's one of the questions on the DS-230, I think? Which is kinda nutty for Canadians, because we ALWAYS cross the border LOL. My list is 2 pages long, and I can't even remember specific times from when I was a child)

I should probably stay away from the Internet LOL... I think my negativity is bringing everyone down.

I can't say for certain but after that appointment tomorrow it's generally quick. Most of the time the doctor can send direct to the medical place as well as CC'ing your fiancee.Just make sure the letter is addressed to the doctor he saw or quotes his case number and when the doctor says he will send it, call the medical place to let them know. You should be fine!

I'll PM you mine if you want

I can understand the frustration. I know it isn't much help me saying that having been approved but I promise there's a light to the end of the tunnel. Maybe speak in the regional forum to see if they know about time scales and estimates?

Yeah, I would just do the police certificate the day of the NOA2. Ours required us to find a person who'd known my fiance for two years and was in a specific list of professions, so that took longer. Just double check the requirements; it seems that each country has weird ones.
