OMG I was just reading that thread..that is crazy! I think things ended up like that for the poster for multiple reasons and it just went down hill from there for her. That's too bad.

I totally agree! Sad. It would have been good to have had her fiance there to return to the embassy, I think. But it will be interesting to see what they can do now.

Yes. I was reading that tonight too. sounds like a terrible situation but also very strange. Maybe there's more information than what was disclosed in the post...But anyway. Enveloped protected and sealed! I can't imagine what would happen if someone lost it...now that would be a disaster. No luck with NVC today. But I knew it was probably pretty early looks like you need about 7-8 business days minimum..But hopefully early next week some of us who were approved 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, or August will be able to get our case numbers.

Frankly with everything else going on in the UK, I feel physically sick about this whole thing. Lots of strange things going on in the UK embassy right now. Far and above the norm.

I honestly think those of us interviewing (or who have fiance/ees interviewing) in London will be fine. Compared to what a lot of the embassies go through, London isn't very difficult and it's not out of line for them to ask for pictures or evidence of an ongoing relationship. I think the best thing we can do is to be prepared. Photomile, you're always very prepared and I don't think you'll have any issues at all. I think in some of the strange situations we've seen, we haven't had all of the facts. Especially the one tonight; that's incredibly strange and makes no sense at all. I'm not one to say anything as I live my whole life being worried or stressed, but extra stress won't help Just being prepared and maybe going over some of the possible questions with your fiancee. This process is stressful enough without adding to it

Oh boy I saw that! Jeesh! My guess from the writing style is that the person who opened the envelope doesn't have English as their native language so it could be why the instruction was missed

The person said they are a UK citizen. So maybe they're just overly stressed. I know I would be!

I know right? Ray is so scared of doing something wrong... even if he was not warned, if he saw in large letters DO NOT OPEN, he would be so scared to even touch the thing.... I don't get it. He is putting his in a very safe place so no one else is tempted to open it. Some crazy stories here on VJ sometimes!

BTW: When the airport asks if you packed all of the contents yourself, should you say to them all but this: and show them the packet. I never thought about that. ????

Tell them yes you packed everything. I have brought things back for my fiancé to help him move and I tell them I packed my suitcase and I didn't come back with anything I didn't have before. Saves trouble in the long run. I've never had problems with customs or security. They opened my carry on this time because I had A bunch of Blu Rays in my carryon and CDs...

not yet... we will ring end of next week since I see no point in ringing the NVC now and then again to check if it has left for the embassy. We will ring end of next week, so hopefully we will get our case number and also an update on when can we expect it being sent to the embassy in Dublin we have medical done and we have everything else ready to go so I am not really rushing the plan is to move November 1st and I think we will easily make it by then

Not sure on your consulate so you might be better in your regional forum as we didn't have to upload ours, but at a guess I would say PDF

upload? upload where?

All I do is download the form, open it (it's pdf) , fill in the details and then print and mail to the embassy...

you mail it or email it (print, sign, scan), but email is the fastest due to the snail mailing system here

Eh, I still say PDF but absolutely on this check your local forum! No-one needs any delays!
