Update from our senator: Terry actually managed to get through to Jeff Bingaman himself. He said he would ask the USCIS to expedite our case... I don't keep my hopes up, we will see what will be the result of that...

Updates for today:

January 9:

1 x denial

January 10:

1 x approval

January 18:

1 x RFE

January 4 :

1 x RFE (after almost 7 months!!!)

There are still like 12 petitions untouched from January 5, I hope it's just a glitch and they didn't update the system and those people actually got their NOA2 in a post!

Further to my yesterday's update:

January 10:

1 x denial (what are those based on??? background checks?)

Anyway I can't believe it's another Friday and another sad weekend ahead of us... I was really sure this was the week for most of us! wrong again... it's turning into despair :crying:

Hey guys, safely made it to Texas and sitting with my Hunny right now! (L)

Border Patrol was good... no hassles when crossing. :)

I think I missed almost 30 pages of our thread in 3 days, wow we are good!! :D

Can I just get a quick update? Any approvals?? I sure hope so!! Hope everyone

is well!!

Thank you!

Hey Texas, glad you made it... thats one heck of a road trip. Enjoy your time!! Great news here - Visa in hand!! We return to usa next week for the POE gambit. Interesting how the fedex delivery worked here. They call her home and grandmother answer... but cannot deliver to her, so call Lidia mobile, and then meet her on the street after 5 minutes in the city center... Hang in there cousin Paul, after approval you will FLY...

The long form you get at birth and may no longer be available if you wanted to get another one. The short form is what the state issues if you need another copy. The long form is valid legal document WITH the raised seal, but not as a copy. The state issued form has intricate photo-copy technologies not available on long form.

I was just about to ask the same thing. Does anyone know why someone would get denied?

Not everybody reads instructions.

They might have never met or maybe didn't meet the 2 year rule or they were engaged after one of them has just gotten

divorced or... Who knows

Meeting reqt is likely ther most often, but also read others..

The IMBRA restrictions which require waiver request. In IMBRA forum, some sex offenders have had troubles. Multiple petitions, etc..

Read about some cousins also had trouble, even petitioner moving to state which allows cousin to marry. Don't think the USCIS cares about this, and there is some federal guideline, like same sex marriage.

Just out of curiosity, and for my own information, it seems that I only have the state-version of my birth certificate (which I sent when filing the application). I have to check with my mom though. I do however, happen to have a "Certification of Birth" card! It is a small and laminated card, issued by Georgia Department of Human Resources (!!!), just with my name, DOB, POB (actually only county of birth, not the city!) and nothing about my parents. When I was filing the I-129F, I thought that this card is the short version, and the state-issued birth certificate is the long one. Glad that I sent the form, not the card  Do any of you guys happen to have this card?

Yes...It's really not fair...Maybe they'll do some K1s today, but I'm not very confident. This week they seem to have been busy with something else. It's definitely been one of the slowest weeks that they've ever had.

Hey, I just wanted to wish everyone a good weekend. Sorry I have been "out of the loop" for a bit but I went to Russia for a few days to be with Sveta. I am astonished and appalled at how few of you guys have been approved recently... It is terrible!!! Just an update, Sveta's interview will be August 29th in Moscow. So, please, say a little prayer for her approval!!! Wishing you all the best!!
