Well here's some partial good news:

RFE that was sent on July 13th we got and responded to on July 18th. It was delivered on July 19th around 1PM, and yesterday morning they finally updated the status to RFE Response Review. In between the delivery reciept and yesterday I was panicking that they might have lost it or, worse yet, held it against me that I stapled the pictures to the TOP of the RFE papers, an not the bottom. I've heard of some people being forced to wait the 60 day timeout if they didn't put RFE on top, and even though the pictures were in a ziplock bag with the blue papers behind very clearly showing...well, after the RFE for faces being too big, I figured they'd try to extend the wait as long as they could

So now begins the potential 60 day wait for RFE response, but I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that, indeed, my petition is in human hands. My touched date prior to RFE was 2/10 so the bin we were in is likely not the same as any of those 2/9er touches from Jan.

It's extremely difficult for us still waiting not to speculate. I just hope for those getting to 180, 190+ days that this doesn't ruin the Summertime for you  Just keep calling, keep asking, keep checking with Congress-folks. NO WAY are we all giving up on things now. Right? RIGHT?!

Looking forward to your next numbers run, Sabi. The few petitions around mine are a smattering of NOA2, RFE, and some still under intial review.

Wishing you all the best fellow filer

wish we could say anything sensible to comfort ourselves, unfortunately we can't... when I saw those petitions moving last week I was sure we were next...

BTW we are venting so much that almost everyone has disappeared from our January thread! I feel bad :( c'mon you guys! give us more good news and updates on your stage of the journey! medicals? interviews? Let's see some good news for a change! :)

Well, my fiance has all the paperwork filled out and will send Packet 3 tomorrow. The police certificate requires a passport photo with a signature on the back of someone who has known the beneficiary for 2 years and is one of 40 professions, I believe. My fiance has had the hardest time finding someone who's known him for that time period and is in one of the professions. His doctor wouldn't sign because he's only known him for 23 months. I think we're going to send the photo to his parents today and get one of their friends to sign, as they have friends who are teachers, who also know my fiance. I'm hoping we can still get an interview scheduled before we schedule the medical (as we can't do that without the police cert). It's my fault for overlooking this part of the process.

its even taking a toll on the very strong. lots of frustration, its like we dont want to talk about the k1 petition in the nights on weekends when we know we dont have any chance of an approval. if we dont get approve by tomorrow, taking about the K1 petition in my relationship might become taboo

in ours it already is a taboo... we were so frustrated that any attempt in discussing it was finishing with arguments... we had to decide to stop talking about it as we have never fought about anything before... so now it is only mentioned when he has to ring someone or send some papers, that's all... we will survive though, I am just sorry for all those people who gave up after a while... I have seen many of those recently :(

I know it is a terrible situation but it is nothing that can break the real love!

i'm afraid you won't get an interview date at london until they have received your medical results. you also wouldn't be able to truthfully sign & send back the readiness for interview form without your police certificate. the good news is police certificates come back pretty quickly once you've applied - i got mine in a week. and there isn't a long wait for medical appointments at knightsbridge doctors- most people seem to have been offered one within a few days of calling.

I think they will. I still don't know why he needs his entire passport copied and a signature on the back of a new photo, but it's their rules so we shall play by them :)

I agree that if a couple breaks up over this, they weren't meant to be. So many people tell me that they couldn't "do" a long distance relationship. I really want to tell them that it's not that they couldn't, it's that they're not willing to do everything required to have one. I think having to work so hard for this can actually strengthen a couple because you know if you can survive months and months of waiting and lots of red tape and sacrifice, that you can make it through anything.

Hey guys,

How are you holding up?

I thought for sure the rest of JAN peeps would be all set by now...

What are the petitions before yours in sequence doing?

I noticed the ones directly before mine got approved, then mine took about 2 days.

well petition in front of me was approved on May 22 and the one behind me got RFE on July 23... the one before djricky4 got approved on July 6 and the one behind him RFE on July 20... there is no system there so we are not even keeping our hopes up when see that anymore :(

I think that as long as we have the medical date, we can send in packet 3, but I could be wrong. I'm going to get my fiance to pay extra for the police certificate to get back here faster. So far, the police certificate has been the biggest problem for us as most of his friends are still in school and can't sign for him yet. He only got back from visiting me 2 weeks ago or we would've taken care of this long before.

It's probably that you send it packet 3 with your medical date listed, and then once they get your results, they'll schedule an interview. That makes the most sense.
