im more thinkin about about they finishing in september at this snail pace lol. feeling sorry for feb filers already. they in for it. Im seeing a large batch for your date untouched. about 10 or more.......that sucks. from my list jan 20 have 9 approvals and 7 RFEs from a list of 31. thats a high ratio of RFEs to approvals

Yup. It very well could be September.. Just need to prepare for the worst at this point...February has a staggering 150 unapproved petitions . I can not imagine how long that will take them to work through. I really think there will be transfer of some of the petitions from more recent filing months to another service center at some point. It is impossible to complete the more recent filing months in a reasonable amount of time now. They do not have the resources. period. It would have been a struggle for them if they had wrapped January up in July..We're on the road to historic levels of backlog. I just don't know why they let things go down like this..All they had to do was maintain some level of consistency. It didn't have to be anything fantastic..But just reasonable. Now this whole situation is abysmal, and the aftershocks will be rolling through the processing of K1s for many months to come...

Yup. there will be some 8 monthers... wouldn't wish that on anyone...this whole processing date ####### is really frustrating me..because it's just these random jumps with no real logic to it. so we went from 9 to 16 okay? Then we'll go to what 23..somewhere between that time in the jump they should be working on our dates. so it prevents us from bringing attention to it until long after they've "finished" with that date...and will they wait until the middle of August to update these times again? jeeze. This is what happens when there's no accountability, no deadlines, and the freedom to manipulate a system to one's benefit. That is why there should always be independent oversight. Now we're dealing with this situation, and it could even be worse for others after us..

Not to call anybody out, but I wish our veteran VJ members would return and start actively posting again. I know a lot of them do, which is much appreciated, but I'm thinking particularly the member who had a nice chat with the VSC Director (pinned topic) and had a friend who is an adjudicator. Maybe they could have shed light on what's happening at VSC, but alas they have gone inactive. That's too bad :(

definitely...from what I remember in that topic..the last time this happened was due to a labor problem (not just shifting toward processing another type of petition)..maybe there's labor problems again? And the former adjudicator really seemed to focus on their tendency to approve petitions when they can and not RFE for arbitrary things...(also he mentioned that contact from a representative usually indicates pull file and work immediately...but don't know how much has changed and what has remained the same....seems like strange times at VSC. I just hope I hear something from my Congressman soon.

I've only found it on Expedia so far. BA themselves don't have it. Sadly this means buying a ticket through Expedia means we can't change it. We went ahead and went through with it this morning, though. Yeah, we're taking a chance, but if the standard is a "max" two weeks to get the visa back, we planned on adding the extra week anyway, so we don't think it'll be an issue. We'll see how that goes, we'll be holding our breath until then haha

Expedia will let you re-book within 1 year, pending guidelines of ticket you purchased and airline... I have canceled expedia flight, and re-booked for $35 fee.

Maybe this can help a bit...It is common knowledge but hey..hang in there

Increased number of H1B visas + understaffed/untrained service center employees = delays in VSC....

if you want to read more... Last years conference but it can be applied to this year too..

Was reading my daily "catch up" on this thread and saw the processing times changed, so I quickly called USCIS and was able to file a service request finally. My congresswoman contacted VSC last week, so I'm PRAYING with those two actions PLUS the fact that it's been 6.5 months for us, that they will do SOMEthing with my petition.....

I have no family here, so we celebrate Christmas in Ireland with his family. At this rate, if he isn't even able to return here til almost that time, we won't be able to afford a trip back there so soon after:( Way to ruin all of 2012 for most of us, Vermont Service Center....

Just imagine what kind of story this will make for our grandkids one day guys....a true test of love and devotion. The strength we'll gain from this is something we could have never have learned if we hadn't had to go through this. I do try to see the benefits from this, although hard, I am grateful for the fact that in the end, we win! We get to be with the love of our lives! And that's worth it all.

As I understand, he wouldn't be able to leave before the adjustment of status goes through anyhow... I'm pretty sure there's no chance that ALL that paperwork could go through before December of this year, even if VSC was dishing out NOA2s in 5 months...

RFEs or not I just want to be approved... if everyone waited in line just like the rest of us, I wouldn't mind at all... but knowing that people from January 21st onwards are already approved, some already have visas in hands drives me mad! Who are they at the USCIS to decide who is approved first without any chronological sense at all!So yeah so explanation is good enough knowing I will be apart from my fiance for the next 3-4 months!? and even here I have to put the question mark as I just can't be certain anymore!

uh.... sorry

just trying to provide a possible explanation that makes sense. Of course it's not fair people aren't being approved in order, and it's about time this got sorted out. It's ridiculous, and no official word on what the heck is going on over there is even more worrying.
