Sub: USCIS receipt number EAC for Alien Fiancée

Dear Senator

I had filed a petition for my fiancée , Miss XXX, with a notice of action

received from USCIS stating they have received our petition in Vermont on 20/01/2012.

The receipt number is EACXXX.

We have approached 6 months since the date of our application, and thus far have

not received any reply from Vermont Service Center with regards to the status of our

petition. We are well over VSC’s normal processing time of five months posted on

USCIS website.

May I take this opportunity to request for you to kindly look into this matter and expedite our

petition?

Any help in this regards would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely

We called them and they made us to fill out their official form with detailed info why we are asking for help:

Explain as clearly as you can the nature of your problem and what you are asking Congressman .... to do on your behalf: (Please use the back of this form, if necessary.) THIS MUST BE COMPLETED

I sent a petition for bringing my foreign fiancé on Jan 14th to Dallas Lockbox. On 1/20 I received a Notice of Action that my case went to Vermont Service Center (on 1/18) and will be proceed under the case # EAC129022xxxx.

It has been 173 days now and I have not heard anything back. On their website they listed that timeframe for this type of petitions is 5 months.

As of now, it has been 5 months and 23 days and no progress. Please help me to investigate what happened to my petition and why there has been no progress for such a long time.

Since then we were communicating thru emails only. After 10 days we got approval, first i was skeptic it wasn't them who helped but now i think it might have been them actually.

Also, it may/may not help, but try calling their local office and asking for the person who works on immigration items for the Senator. That may help cut through the clutter of emails Senators receive daily.

and don't be afraid to chase someone up as well. We did!

Well unfortunately I can't chase those people as I am the beneficiary and Terry feels bad chasing and ringing those people all the time. I don't know why but I just can't convince him its ok since we are customers... So he is giving up pretty quickly... All they tell him, he just accepts it as a fact when I am getting more frustrating each time i hear their excuses... All we can do is wait in that case unfortunately. We have sent the papers to the senator last night, so will ask Terry to give them a ring tomorrow to see if they got them amd what can they do for us...

Can someone point me to the general email/mail letter you drafted to your congressman? I know it's on here somewhere.

Thanks!

My congressman had a permission form on their website that had to be completed, signed and faxed in. And I just wrote a letter explaining the situation and included all pertinent USCIS info. And I also included a copy of my NOA1. Then I followed up by email, and the caseworker replied that its customary to wait 30-45 days for a reply from USCIS. So then I became impatient and I filed an SR myself a week later, and already heard back about that... Just another "canned" answer... In review and wait another 60 days for NOA or status change. Never heard back from congressman, and that was 2 weeks ago. I really don't know if the SR made it worse, because people all around me are approved or with RFEs... as if I was pulled from the working stack of apps...

All I know is... it sucks... and the system sucks... They should have deadlines like everyone else that works or pays for something. In the real world, heads roll for things like this... Being late happens... but this is ridiculous and they seem accountable to no one... They received my app 188 days ago...

And like most of you... I just want to know when we will be together. 2 months? 3 months? 4 months? We can't plan anything or look forward to a date... And we can't even realistically visit eachother until this is over. We haven't seen eachother since Jan. 8...

Yeah I was wondering myself if the SR didn't slow us down... Ehhh one thing I will tell you, dont think too much into what we could have and what we shouldnt have done or you will go crazy!

Since January!? We haven't seen each other since February and its a hell of a wait! After all he is coming to visit me in September but we were trying to avoid that to save money and his holidays for when I move so we can go see his family and friends... well it is gone theough the window now... All I am worrying about now is that if I dont get my visa by X Mas we will have to spend it apart.. He cannot take time off suring that period and I probably wouldn't be able to pass the POE after such a long wait, they would probably think I am fed up and wouldn't let me go through the customs...

Feel free to chase them..they are elected and they are suppose to serve their constituencies....You will more than likely ended up talking to a staffer...but at least it will bring their attention to a particular (your) case...Immigration is not the highest on their priority list but pleasing any potential voter prior to November this year counts:):)Good luck!!

Yes...Let's hope the remaining half of the day will result in some approvals...Just a staggering number of RFEs lately...afternoons typically yield more approvals...I honestly would be afraid to have my file looked at in the morning with these trends...Everything is still moving at snail pace...and the days keep ticking away...I do think Vermont will tie it's record or maybe even exceed it now for average processing time...I don't think we'll ever find out for sure what caused it..but man...it's bad. At this rate they'll finish January in August :(...Where that leaves everyone that filed after us? God only knows..
