totally agree, it's bs how some ppl get stuck like that

has anybody tried contacting the ombudsman?

I got a reply, but it came two weeks after I got approved and it pretty much said my case was closed due to the approval. It took about a month to get a reply.

LorRenee, I think booking early wouldn't be a bad idea as long as there's an option to change the ticket. I'm trying to find the British Airways deal myself, as ticket prices for early September are at about 1400 right now, which is crazy.

VSC cant behave like this.......6 months and nothing you can do about it, congressman office telling us ####### that we have to wait until end of month before he can put in an expedite request, uscis wont put in a service request cause the dumb asses think we are all stupid telling me that they processing jan 16th so im withing processing time..........FML :ranting:

If my Congressman gets this response I'm going to be so disappointed. Other filers were able to push an expedite through..Where is the consistency..God this sucks..

hate to bring bad news but no movements yesterday :( except that one RFE for Jan 20... maybe they will update later on today...

wow..now that's a bad day for adjudications..I don't understand what's going on....these past weeks should have been prime time for approvals...at this rate that backlog will be growing to epic levels...I guess we're going for that record 189 days average processing time again...Up to 172 now on VJ...Scary stuff for us and for all who filed after..Today is 188 days for me...

I've only found it on Expedia so far. BA themselves don't have it. Sadly this means buying a ticket through Expedia means we can't change it. We went ahead and went through with it this morning, though. Yeah, we're taking a chance, but if the standard is a "max" two weeks to get the visa back, we planned on adding the extra week anyway, so we don't think it'll be an issue. We'll see how that goes, we'll be holding our breath until then haha

I don't know if you ever thought of it but flights from Dublin to the USA are much cheaper so you would only have to get here which isn't expensive :) on a plus, you would have your POE in Dublin so closer to home if sth went wrong :)

Also I hope everyone knows that the return ticket is usually cheaper than the one way one :)

Dumb question but are multiple RFEs a possibility? I'm starting to watch the RFE timespan for the Jan-ers like a hawk.

yes I think I have seen someone who got an RFE and the another RFE... if that is what you ask ?

That was an interesting read. I see a lot of people on here recommending people to just send what they forgot pre-RFE notice, so that is definitely not the way to go since it seems VSC is planning to start (rightfully IMO) returning anything without the RFE notice documentation vs. trying to play "find the needle."

I just replied to our RFE, and You have to send the blue notice they give you back with your stuff. I can see how it would get confusing if they just got random papers in the mail. The blue notice stands out and lets them get you in the correct place. Also it had our A# on it, so we have been given an A# at this point.

Yup, that's exactly what I was wondering. Really hoping that when they finally get to our petitions, they look through the WHOLE thing when nitpicking out issues and don't just send RFE for one issue while another went unnoticed.

I could not agree more. I can only handle one RFE. I know another girl from VSC who got a recent RFE and it had all of her problems listed out... She was missing 3 things. So, I think they TEND to put all of them on the same RFE, but they CAN send you another. I will lose it if we get another  !

Push on your congressmans people!

We got our noa2 10 days after we asked them for help!

They contacted us 3 times in those 10 days and they were so nice and helpful... I dont know if they actually pulled some strings but 3 days before the actual approval they had told us they were taking some steps and we will hear back very shortly!

Most of you are going to 190s and that is not freaking okay!!!

unfortunately I believe no statistics anymore, don't think they have done much, most probably your case was already with the adjudicator and you were just lucky they got to it on that day :) we do what we can, we contacted everyone we could, we even have a service request in place and what? big fat nothing! I am actually much more patient now than I was before we passed the 6 months mark... before I had my hopes high with every month we passed, right now I am just indifferent...all our plans, everything is gone... all we can do is wait and hope we will be together by X-Mas...

yup, when we called they said Jan 16th

 ..haven't heard anything back from my Congressman about whether or not an expedite was able to go through or not......But I do know that a few users here pushed it through even though they weren't at "their" exact processing date. But it was very close. - 2 days. Over a month and a half and they've processed 5 days worth of petitions? seriously..this is just crazy..But I agree with LA and JK..maybe just keep the representatives on it...The fact that the processing time is still 5 months on the website after the update has to provide some cover to getting some assistance.

Yup..I have to agree with you Sabi...it's impossible to know anything with certainty now...Things are just too inconsistent to predict..If I get approval this week, it's still too difficult to say whether or not the file was just sitting with an adjudicator already...Hopefully we'll see some approvals today at least....1 RFE was a pretty disappointing start to the week.
