Okay, so I posted this in the regional, but I'll ask here too just out of curiosity. How many of y'all have or have thought about booking your plane ticket before interview (when you know your date) or before the visa is actually returned and in your hand? Expedia has a deal going with British Airways that could save us around $600, but thanks to the olympics everything else is $13348957634 for a one way or even a "return." There's always the risk that something could go wrong, his passport gets delayed in the mail, or for some terrible reason he gets denied.. Do we think that will happen? No, but we try to prepare for the worst.

I'm anxious to get him here. We're due to pick up the keys to our new place September 6th and we were looking at flying him out here Sep 5th (His interview is Aug 15th). I know he'll read this when he wakes in about 6 hours and probably wince at the fact I asked, but I can't stop thinking about the lower fare and whether or not to take the chance. Bah!

Got our RFE today.headbonk.gif They did not like the Birth Cert I sent in, my mistake really, thinking it was the "long form" (I sent the 2 page cert with the raised seal provided by the hospital). In Pennsylvania, the state birth cert is a tiny half page cert. with very little info on it, so I thought the hospital one was the correct one. Well, quick fix!!! Thank god! Copy of my passport and state birth cert. already sent out tonight express shipment. Hope it is a quick turn-around and then NOA2 baby! good.gif

Glad it was a quick and easy fix!!! We don't have any long form types in MO...they ask for all long forms for everyone at the interviews in Honduras and I had to do some major research since I had never heard of it before...so they better know that MO only has one kind!!! Somebody even tried to pass a law that would have required long forms for something and the states that don't have them had to knock them off their high horse! Having 50 states that are so different is really crazy sometimes...so one of the originals is with our paperwork and I have a link to site that states the inexistence of long forms in my state.......Anyway, hope that you do see a super-FAST turn around!!!

Hi January friends. Did I miss something...did ANYONE get an approval or RFE today? unsure.gif

I have been on and off here all day and didn't see any good news :( Plus still no one answering phones or emails in Tegucigalpa and looks like I have to make another trip to the neighboring city this week about all of this. Ugh. Not a nice Monday for most January filers! But L+T did just fine!!! Congrats!

I just don't understand how they can continue to adjudicate petitions at this slow rate....What is there plan to address the situation? Why can't they just finish January? 3 months to adjudicate these petitions? it's insane.

You are soooooo lucky! We have the same NOA2 date and same consulate received date and our embassy doesn't answer the phones or respond to emails or anything...we just have to wait all over again. I feel just like the person who posted above here about how this is taking a toll...yes, I have NOA2 and I am grateful but this second wait is driving me insane. I can't take it anymore. I understand that the embassy here is busier than others but I emailed them on like July 9th or 10th and still no response. Seriously, those of you who have fast embassies, count your blessings!!! To think we wanted to get married in August or September......

ANd good luck with your interview! That is very exciting!!!

definitely bro. This is absurd. The lack of consistency is scary and honestly embarrassing. And if the petitions were being processed in a timely manner the RFEs wouldn't be quite so bad...Instead people are getting them after already waiting over 6 months. I just want to get out of this week with an approval and move on with my life. Feel like I'm being held hostage..Today was pretty pathetic when it came to approvals too. It's been like this for over 2 months now..Is it ever going to end? I'm starting to wonder if they've just decided to shut down on us. I wonder if the attempt at an expedite is even going to yield anything at this point...At this rate..It's just so incredibly frustrating....Even CSC wasn't this slow earlier in the year. There's slow and then there's just cruel. There's a complete disregard for the service being provided to us. And if there's a problem..well it needs to be fixed. I would think that they learned something from last time these processing times went out of control? committing the same mistakes and mismanagement again.

6 months and 11 days since our NAO1:( These last 2 weeks have been killers for me and fiance as far as emotions go. We know we forgot a paper in our packet, realized in May, so we are expecting an RFE. And the idea of that taking months to process on top of the fact that we haven't even heard anything yet, brings the petition alone into the 9+ month timeframe for us. That is outrageous and unbearable.

My fiance is moving to Holland to work for 3 months. Which means with the time difference and our work schedules, we won't be able to talk or chat except on the weekends. I feel like it just keeps getting worse and worse as the year goes on.... I know we HAVE to be getting closer. We ARE. But for the love of God Please let us know SOMETHING!!!!!

Does anyone know what is the protocol if a petition does actually get lost???

Hang in there, an RFE should only add 3 weeks, not 3 months.

Bah!

We booked for Lidia in advance, because the price went up for little notice flights, but the value for her to return with us was also a lot. It's a gamble, but i say if you can get a deal to book early it's worth it, based on what you expect from consulate. Its always a gamble, you just need to figure out the odds to see if it is a good bet. Also, our airline had reasonable re-booking fee with 24 hour notice (refund, less $100 or so)... Otherwise booking late would have cost several hundred more.
