I am so sorry... VSC is just messing with everyone's plans. We originally thought August wedding.... What a laugh that is now. We came to our senses about a month ago and pushed it forward... Now I am scared we wont be able to do that! Good luck Miguel.angel, I hope you hear something soon. And NO RFE.

I had mine planned for August too. A month ago, I moved mine forward to November 21st and I really hope I can keep that date. I'm so glad my vendors were flexible!

Ours was/is planned for October 6

my parents got married on October 5, his on October 7.

This was a special date to us... well my fiance keeps sayin: "just relax, the date really doesn't matter at this point anymore..." (yes i have been very frustrated that we wont get that special date :( )

Aww, I hope you make it by October 6th too. If Slovakia is fast, you should be able to :) If not, maybe you could do a civil wedding now and a wedding with family and friends on October 6th next year? I know it's not the same. Or you could get married on a different day if it comes to that, but use October 6th as your official date and celebrate then every year.

Yes...it is funny to think that I had been hoping for an August/September wedding and now we will be lucky to have an interview by October. The August schedule came out this week and the numbers on it were pretty distant from ours so I don't think we are even at the top of the list to go on September's schedule.... And their automatic email response used to say "5-7 days" for a response...yesterday, they upped it to "10-15 days!!!!" So there must be a lot of traffic going through Tegucigalpa. :help:

So I haven't bothered planning a thing...just looked at dresses and found where I would like to get the cake. I am thinking we will be doing what someone suggested--have the civil ceremony and celebrate with family and friends later. If we have that much energy left! At this point, I don't even care! I just want the interview date and the visa so we can buy plane tickets and get on with things! Forget about a wedding!

And I was so hoping to find some happy news on here!! But it is still early since they are known to have the systems updating late at night......we got our NOA2 after 12 am EST. Hang in there everybody!!!

Ray and Mel... I am so sorry to hear this happened to you guys at this stage... :( I hope that it is some simple fix for you guys and that you can return it quickly to them.

On the bright side (if there is one to this maddening process  ) at least you know that your file has been looked at and it hasn't fallen into VSC abyss somewhere...

The least they can do (after giving us RFE's so late into the processing time) is to give us a quick turnaround on our RFE responses...

Thank you so much for your words of encouragment! Is it bad that I feel comfort in not being alone? I would not wish an RFE on anyone, but it is nice to have others to share this with. I hope you hear something fast! Do you have any clue on what the turn around time is on an RFE? On average? What was your RFE for?

So what is the average percentage of RFE's given for K1's?? Does anyone know? Of the 11 cases in my group there were 6 approvals and 5 RFE's... (or 45%) Is that about average?

Not sure if the USCIS publishes data on RFEs. I know you can find reports on approvals and denials, though. The State Dept. data on visas seems more detailed since they include a column for those that overcame the first decision, which means the visa was ultimately approved.

Part One: The K-1 Visa Journey:

USCIS Receipt of I-129F: January 24, 2012 | Petition Approval: June 15, 2012 (No RFEs)
Interview: October 24, 2012 - Review | Visa Delivered: October 31, 2012

Part Two: Entry and Adjusting Status:

POE: November 18, 2012 (at SFO) - Review
Wedding: December 1, 2012 | Social Security: New cards received on December 7, 2012.
AOS Package (I-485/I-765/I-131) NOA1: February 19, 2013 | Biometrics Appt.: March 18, 2013
AP/EAD Approved: April 29, 2013 | Card Received: May 6, 2013 | AOS Interview Appt.: May 16, 2013 - Approved Review Card Received: May 24, 2013

good news! if everything goes smoothly you should have your visa in August maybe? cool!

I phoned this morning and I could have had my medical on monday!! but thought to give London Embassy more time to put my petition in their system!! It would help to have interview towards end of August so I could plan moving my stuff by mid of sept and purchase ticket etc, but at this point I'm trying not to think too much and let it be.. (easy to say hard to do!)

september, i would say. i had my medical july 11th, and hoping for an interview date of very end of august/beginning of sept. others had their medicals in june and still waiting for packet 4... but still, great news sara, we are very close to the end! maybe we could even get coffee sometime now you're in london? will PM you :)

yeah coffee would be good, let me know =)

That's actually a really good point sabi, considering they most likely get credit for looking at it, then they are probably not taking the time to look very hard and just ripping off an RFE which means they get credit for the attempt and can move forward.

Hey if they want to take all f-ing year to process these then that's only giving us the time to come up with theories...frankly...what else is there to do. LOL
