Even for this thread that's a  theory and that's saying something

can I just kindly ask you to explain what are you trying to tell us? You keep showing up out of the blue and making those comments that add not much to this conversation. I don't want to sound hostile but it's just really weird and as much as I would like to ignore it, I am sure we all want this thread to be as friendly as possible which we managed to keep up till now...

I won't go so far as to say they would intentionally issue RFE's to make their deadlines stretch (though people in any job will have days where they choose to be lazy), but some adjudicators will be more strict than others. I know that some have gotten RFE's because the adjudicator thought that their application was a copy instead of original, and the couple had to send back a new one and sign it in blue ink at the bottom. Some have gotten RFE's for their photos not having the date printed on them. And as we've seen, many people find VJ after filing and didn't know to send something important, like the intent to marry within 90 days.

I certainly hope so! and as far as I have noticed, it looks like CSC is a bit stricter than VSC... but that is just based on my observations...

I know so many don't read instructions but everyone is almost getting hit with an RFE. It is surprising..But its good to know that someone is not doing something at someone's expense. Thank you for reminding us

I can safely say that of the few hundered I found for December, almost 70% were RFE'd

And as we've seen, many people find VJ after filing and didn't know to send something important, like the intent to marry within 90 days.

Despite what I've said before, I do agree they might be a little more 'ready' to give an RFE although I'm not sure it's intentional. They're probably working at about double to workload this time, so I have a feeling things are being rushed so things are not getting looked at in such a detailed manner and things might be being... rushed

Yes, and that worries me a bit. What happens if the NVC thinks something shouldn't have been approved?

As far as I know the NVC don't do any checking. They just get your case, stick a barcode onto it to give it a reference number and forward it on

Okay, great. I thought I read somewhere that the NVC looks over the file to make sure USCIS didn't miss something. It would make more sense if they just get it and forward it.

Maybe for the spousal petitions since they spend more time at the NVC.

Okay, that would make sense. I tried going to the NVC section of VJ, but it gets confusing since there are a few different visas people could have filed for.

They probably run over it to make sure nothing is missing and to extract your biographic information to enter a case into the system and signal London

I hope so. I'm not calling until next week since I just got the NOA2 hardcopy.

I usually miss a few days on this tread so I try to catch up but it is hard at work! I just had a quick question:

Are a lot of you contacting your congress-person? What do you think the benefit is? My fear is that is will just piss people off. I have a lot of friends here who work for governement facilities (not USCIS) and said that it could place a chip on the shoulder of the person looking at my file. Any thoughts? I don't want to red-flag myself, but I am tired of this mess. As I am sure you all are too. :bonk:

Praying for an end soon... Thanks all. Mel

I might call tomorrow since it'll have been a week. The worst they can do is say they don't have it yet :) I'm definitely impatient too. I want my fiance to send Packet 3 as soon as our file gets to the embassy.

If you hear nothing after you hit 6 months it's a good idea to contact the congress people and get them to have your perition expedited... At least that's what we have been told and we believe it's true but at this stage you just don't know whats right and what's wrong... Maybe it's better to just wait for it to happen... Maybe we contacted too many people alrwady an that is why they slowed us down... Its a guess game all the way...
