Hey There!!! I think it was while you were away, but somehow I got a Service Request in last Tuesday. I don't know how, because I was shut down when I tried before. Also, my Congressman's office inquired late in the week before that. Nevertheless, I have nothing new to report yet. I was told by the USCIS that if I didnt get a response to the SR within 15 days, I should call back and give them the SR Reference Number they gave me for an update. I think the SR process was legit, because they took all detailed contact information and entered it, including reading it back to me for verification. Anyway... its gotta be soon... Man... was I naive to think we would be getting married in August... All I know is, whenever it happens... It's gonna be freakin awesome... Being with her is worth the wait, however long it takes...

Well we got the response in mail from uscis today. basically

saying they got the service request and that we will receive a decision

or notice within 90 days from july 9th... They just add days/ weeks/ months wherever and whenever they want...

I got my hard copy NOA2 today and I'm a little confused by it. It says "the above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate" but there's not a consulate listed on this paper and there's a number above my fiancé's (the beneficiary) name. Is that suppose to be the case number the NVC issues?

It also says its valid from 7/12/12 to 11/12/12

I don't remember who it was but someone was asking the other day about whether to obtain certified translations. I was looking at the London Embassy website and thought I'd point out that they want certified translations per their website.

I can't believe you guys have still heard nothing :( I know how you feel, but keep pushing, don't give up and it will come when you least expect it. It was around 4pm central time here in the states when I received the text notification. I wasn't expecting it around that time. I got my noa1 notification around 1am so I was expecting it to be around that time for NOA2. Even when I got the notification on my iPhone I thought it was an amber alert or some other auto generated text message from my wireless service carrier but it was USCIS. I wish I could push for you all and call and bug the fire out of them for you guys :( they will have to do something when you hit the 6 month mark. They are running out of their stupid lame excuses.

yeah that makes sense and I would assume so but there was somewhere that people can translate themselves as long as they put in writing that they know English well enough to do so... Of course it is country specific and as we know American and European rules are a bit different so no matter what I get all my documents translated by a certified translator :)

To be honest after getting all those weird replies (plus the one about 90 days from the service request which I have never heard of before) it looks like they are making rules as they go... I don't even think any senator is able to do anything, I think it just happens that people are finally approved after a while and trying everything and they assume it's thanks to a senator or service request or god knows what else, and the truth is they just got to their petition after it sitting somewhere... coincidence, that's all... I don't know, at this stage that's how I see it... we are on our own in all this!

If the number looks like AXXX XXX XXX, that's his alien number. USCIS doesn't issue the NVC case number...two different agencies housed in different government departments.

We had one of those A XXX XXX XXX numbers on our RFE too. (It say's applicant / petitioner A#).

Does that mean that eventually becomes my SSN # ??

Would be curious if anyone knows... :)
