4 weeks ?!!! :crying:

Yep, and no idea of when our petition/case will be forwarded to NVC. I called one of my senator's local offices yesterday and the immigration issues person on their staff said it could take as long as six weeks. Apparently, USCIS bundles petitions together to send to the NVC, but they have to reach a certain number before they're sent. And that seems fine on the surface, but if that number is unrealistically high, then it sucks to have to wait.

It's been four weeks today since our petition was approved, but our case has yet to make it to the NVC. I'm still going to remain hopeful that he'll be here by October, though.

Ugh....that sucks. Ours took almost a month--June 11 to July 5. BUT they sent it out super quickly after that long wait...you must have just missed the package that ours and kate&javi's went to NVC in...

Seriously! If I remember correctly, kate&javi got approval either on the 13th or 14th...so it could have been as little as a day!!!!!! Because she got her case number like a day or two after me...since it takes them a few days to enter them all into the system. So yea, that really sucks for you. Ugh.

Thanks everyone! After getting an RFE 4 weeks ago i was nervous that it would really slow us down, but thank GOd they approved it 3 weeks after getting our RFE reply. Hope to get to NVC soon!

That's what we are hoping for too. Sent our reply yesterday via overnight mail, so they should have it today by 3PM.

I also spoke with the immigration specialist at my fiance's congressman's office today. She wants to be kept up to date. She is very nice and told me she is going to follow our case right through to the end... even through AOS. She will be emailing USCIS next week to see where our petition is at... :)

At least there is some hope... I sure would love to see an approval by end of July (that would be 6 months for us)

Just heard back from Sen. Merkley's immigration staffer. (I contacted the staffer around 1:30 PM yesterday, sent in the inquiry and got a response just 10 minutes ago...efficient!!)

Our petition had been sitting in the CSC mailroom since it was approved and was mailed out to the NVC yesterday. It should be there sometime next week. Of course, it will take the NVC time to get it into their system, but here's hoping that doesn't take a month as well.

For my fellow UK petitioners and beneficiaries, she noted that, "Due to the presence of the Olympics, visa operations at the U.S. Embassy in London will not be at full capacity during July and August. Unfortunately, since visa officers will be diverted to other duties during the Olympics you might experience a delay in the scheduling of your fiancé’s K-1 visa interview."

We had already figured his interview wouldn't happen until September, so I'm hoping this keeps moving forward.

I figured as much. I am genuinely curious about these other duties that they'll be diverted to though. It could be for the best, however. I wouldn't want to get an officer who was annoyed they were stuck inside doing interviews instead of doing something for the Olympics.

My fiance phoned NVC this morning and it hasn't been received yet (they can't even count wks! the woman he spoke to said: "oh, it's only about 2 wks since you got approved.." - you kidding? it's 3 today!!) maybe our petition left yesterday together with yours? I hope so, in that case it means we will have a case number by the end of next week. Fingers crossed..

At this point I am not too bothered about not getting an interview until September, seeing how things were going I got commitments here in London till end of Sept, so... But it'll be good to have visa in hand by mid of sept and move by 6th october (yes, I'd like to get that direct flight from Frankfurt to Anchorage!!!!) lol

Congrats on finally going out of CSC

I wonder what effects would the Olympics have on the US embassy in London? After all, people are trying to GO to London, not coming out !!!

I think it's about 10hrs - 13/14 all together with a connecting flight to Frankfurt. Well I'd rather get that direct flight than 20/22 hrs with 2 connecting flights.... but they only run till 6th october.....!

Let us know when you get your case number so I'll have my fiance call (he had to wake up extra early this morning in order to phone them up - so dont really want him to do that every morning!)

It's probably about 12-13 hours for my fiancé to fly from Heathrow to Portland with a layover, so I can definitely see how getting that direct flight to Anchorage is a big time savings!

I will definitely post when we get our case number! I will probably wait until next Thursday or Friday to start calling NVC again.
